The new UFC 310 main card was announced Saturday with flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja moving to the main event for his title defense against Kai Asakura on Dec. 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The change was made after welterweight champion Belal Muhammad was knocked off the card with a foot infection that prevented him from fighting Shavkat Rakhmonov in the originally scheduled headliner. In Muhammad’s absence, Rakhmonov remains on the card in a new five-round co-main event as he faces fellow undefeated contender Ian Machado Garry.
Rakhmonov and Garry meet in a fight that is expected to determine the No. 1 contender at welterweight with the winner moving on to face Muhammad in 2025.
A new fight just added to the card features grappling specialist Kron Gracie competing for the first time in over a year when he faces Bryce Mitchell. Gracie enters the fight off two straight losses while Mitchell competes for the first time in since suffering a brutal knockout to Josh Emmett back in December 2023.
At heavyweight, Ciryl Gane makes his return to action against Alexander Volkov in a rematch after they first met back in 2021. On that night, Gane won a five-round decision but Volkov has rattled off four wins in a row to put himself back in title contention. He seeks revenge when they meet for the second time on Dec. 7.
The final fight on the main card features a featherweight banger as Nate Landwehr takes on the always exciting Doo Ho Choi.
One interesting note with the main card announcement is the featherweight fight between former champion Aljamain Sterling and Movsar Evloev is apparently happening on the prelims. The matchup could potentially crown a new contender in the featherweight division, but it looks like Sterling and Evloev will won’t be battling it out on the main card.
