Follow the UFC 310 live blog for Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov, the main card heavyweight rematch this Saturday in Las Vegas.
Gane (12-2) and Volkov (38-10) first fought in June 2021. In a five-round main event, Gane proved to be the better man as he won a convincing decision over the towering Russian. Following that win, Gane defeated Derrick Lewis to become interim heavyweight champion, but has since gone just 2-2 with title fight losses to Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones. His most recent outing saw him dispatch Serghei Spivac via second-round TKO.
Since suffering a submission loss to Tom Aspinall, Volkov has been on a roll. The one-time Bellator heavyweight champion has rattled off four straight wins, including finishes of Tai Tuivasa, Alexander Romanov, and Jairzinho Rozenstruik. This past June, Volkov picked up an important win with a three-round drubbing of former friend Sergei Pavlovich.
