Muhammad Mokaev made short work of late-notice replacement Joevincent So at Friday’s Brave CF 91 card in Bahrain.
So, who took the fight on two days’ notice as a replacement for Luthando Biko, exchanged on the feet for a brief moment with the UFC veteran, but had no answer to Mokaev’s first single leg takedown. Mokaev immediately took top position and landed a few shots before locking in a D’Arce choke that put So to sleep just under two minutes into the opening round.

Now 13-0 (1 NC) as a professional—and unbeaten in 37 MMA appearances including 23 amateur wins—Mokaev celebrates his first finish since a third-round submission of Tim Elliott back in October 2023.
Mokaev won two more in the UFC, making it seven inside the octagon overall, before parting ways with the promotion following a pair of decisions over Manel Kape and Alex Perez.
“I’m ready for everyone in this division,” Mokaev said after the finish. “I will be pound-for-pound and best flyweight in the world. They can deny, but they can’t hide. And I’m coming for everyone on the 125 division. I’m the best flyweight in the world.”
Mokaev is currently No. 9 at 125 pounds in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings.
