This is the live blog for Cory Sandhagen vs. Deiveson Figueiredo, the bantamweight main event of Saturday’s UFC Des Moines event at Wells Fargo Arena.
Sandhagen looks to get back to his winning ways after having his three-fight win streak snapped by Umar Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC Abu Dhabi this past August. Prior to that, the one-time interim title challenger earned a pair of decision wins against Rob Font and Marlon Vera, along with a TKO victory against Song Yadong. Currently, Sandhagen is ranked No. 4 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings.
Figueiredo, ranked No. 7, is set to compete in his fourth straight bantamweight bout after making the move up from the flyweight division. “Deus da Guerra” recently suffered his first divisional loss to Petr Yan in the main event of UFC Macau. The two-time flyweight champ moved up and picked up wins over Vera, Rob Font, and Cody Garbrandt.
