Quang Le didn’t let anything stop him from securing his first UFC win.
The first finish of UFC Des Moines saw Le lock in a rear-naked choke on Gaston Bolanos and he held on until Bolanos went to sleep and referee Tyrone Roberts stepped in for the stoppage.

Le’s grappling was a problem for Bolanos from the start as he quickly took the Peruvian striker to the ground in Round 1. After controlling Bolanos for much of the opening round, Le went right back to his wrestling to neutralize his opponent when the Round 2 bell rang.
Bolanos did his best to defend, but eventually succumbed to Le’s submission attack. The official time of the stoppage was 1:54 into the second round.
Not only did Le (9-2) finally add a UFC win to his résumé, he did it in front of plenty of friendly faces. The Vietnam native fights out of Brooklyn Center, Minn., just up the highway from Des Moines, Iowa.
