Cory Sandhagen’s sense of humor continues to shine.
After a dominant showing, and finish in the main event of UFC Des Moines this past Saturday against Deiveson Figueiredo, Sandhagen called for a title shot in his next fight, and even raised his hand to be the backup fighter for the UFC 316 championship rematch between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O’Malley.
Sandhagen bounced back in the win column after losing to Umar Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC Abu Dhabi this past August, and when it comes to the title discussion for the exciting bantamweight, fans seem to go back to that loss as the main reason they argue against it — as explained in an Instagram video Sandhagen posted recently where he’s having a conversation with a UFC fan, played by himself.
“This is some of y’all right now and it doesn’t even bother you,” Sandhagen wrote as his caption.
Sandhagen is now 4-1 in his past five fights, which also includes main event wins over Rob Font, Marlon Vera, and Song Yadong. The 33-year-old is in a pretty good position coming off of a great win, but also being a fresh matchup for both Dvalishvili and O’Malley.
