This is the UFC 315 live blog for Alexa Grasso vs. Natalia Silva, the main card flyweight bout Saturday at Bell Centre in Montreal.
Grasso (16-4-1) is currently ranked No. 2 at 125 pounds and No. 3 on MMA Fighting’s Pound-for-Pound list, while Silva (18-5-1) sits at No. 9 in the division and No. 16 P4P.
This is Grasso’s first fight since dropping the flyweight title back to Valentina Shevchenko this past 306 this past September. Grasso shocked the world when she defeated Shevchenko at UFC 285 and narrowly escaped with a split draw in their Noche UFC rematch. The trilogy bout was all Shevchenko, as Grasso was repeatedly taken down en route to losing a lopsided decision. She now has to defend her spot against the surging Silva.
“Natty Ice” is 6-0 since joining the UFC in 2022 and is currently riding a 12-fight win streak. She’s knocked off several veterans on her rise up the rankings, including former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade, Viviane Araujo, and Andrea Lee. A win over Grasso puts Silva in pole position for a title shot.
