Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O’Malley are less than a month away from running things back.
Last September, Dvalishvili finally realized his dream of claiming UFC gold when he won a unanimous decision over O’Malley in the main event of UFC 306 and taking home the bantamweight title. It was a disappointing performance from O’Malley, who later revealed he went into the bout with a hip injury.
Now, “Suga” has a chance to avenge that loss, and the UFC is leaning all the way in.
On Monday, the UFC released a new promo for UFC 316, heavily focused on the rematch between Dvalishvili and O’Malley, actually leading with O’Malley before talking about the the champion. Then at the very end, the promo quickly mentions the co-main event of the evening: a women’s bantamweight title fight between Julianna Peña and Kayla Harrison.
UFC 316 takes place on June 7 at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Check out the full promo above.
