Ante Delija makes the leap to the UFC on Sept. 6.

The recently signed former PFL champion makes his octagon debut when he takes on fellow veteran heavyweight Marcin Tybura (27-9) at UFC Paris. Eurosport was first to report the matchup.

Delija (25-6), won a PFL heavyweight tournament crown in 2022 a year after finishing as a runner-up in 2021. His triumphant run included victories over Matheus Scheffel, Shelton Graves, and Renan Ferreira. In the 2022 final, Delija defeated Scheffel again to claim a championship and a $1,000,000 prize.

He went 1-1 in his final two PFL appearances before rebounding with a first-round knockout of Yorgan De Castro at an event in Slovenia this past April.

Tybura has been a mainstay in the UFC’s heavyweight rankings for nearly a decade. The Polish standout is coming off of back-to-back wins over the previously undefeated Mick Parkin and Jhonata Diniz and has defeated three of his past four opponents. This marks Tybura’s 23rd UFC appearance.

UFC Paris is headlined by a middleweight contenders’ bout between France’s own Nassourdine Imavov and Caio Borralho.
