This is the UFC Nashville live blog for Stephen Thompson vs. Gabriel Bonfim, the welterweight co-main event on Saturday.
The oldest fighter on the UFC roster, Thompson has been a staple of the UFC since 2012, challenging for the welterweight title twice. More importantly, “Wonderboy” is one of the most beloved fighters still competing in the UFC, but at 42 years old, Thompson is nearing the end of his run, it’s just a question of how long he can keep holding on.
Bonfim broke into the UFC in 2022 alongside his brother, Ismael Bonfim, joining the promotion from Contender Series and immediately making a splash. A loss to Nicolas Dalby in 2023 set back Bonfim’s rise, but he’s since rebounded with a pair of wins over Ange Loosa and Khaos Williams, and now has his eyes set on a top 15 ranking.
