This is the UFC Abu Dhabi live blog for Petr Yan vs. Marcus McGhee, the co-main event bantamweight bout Saturday at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
Currently No. 5 at 135 pounds in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, Yan (18-5) has bounced back from a three-fight slump in style with consecutive wins over Deiveson Figueiredo and Song Yadong. The former bantamweight champion is well on his way to another title, with current titleholder Merab Dvalishvili having expressed interest in fighting Yan again.
McGhee (10-1) has emerged as a rising contender in the loaded bantamweight division. Despite a late start to his pro career, McGhee has impressed with eight knockout wins on his résumé and a 4-0 UFC record. In his most recent outing, he outpointed Jonathan Martinez to move one step closer to the top 10 of the rankings.
