Riot Games has shared on X how it will be redefining Teamfight Tactics (TFT)’s esports ecosystem, beginning with the game’s 15th set, KO Coliseum.

From introducing a Pro Circuit, new Tier 2 qualification system, esports website and more, here is everything to know about Team Fight Tactics’ esports plans going forward.

KO Coliseum Introduces Pro Circuit

KO Coliseum begins with the launch of the TFT Pro Circuit (TPC), kicking off August 29th, 2025.This is a new Tier 1 tournament series featuring the top 32 players for each region, 28 from Cyber City Golden Spatula and four invited by Riot.

The TPC covers four main regions: APAC, AMER, EMEA and CN. For CN, part of the Pro Circuit slots will be decided based on Cyber City TOC and JOC results, with remaining slots filled after KO Coliseum’s launch.

There will be three TPC events starting in August, where Pro Points can be earned based on placements in each event, determining teams’ place in the Regional Finals.

Regional Finals in Teamfight Tactics KO Coliseum

According to the official TFT account, every pro will qualify for the Regional Finals, formerly the Golden Spatula, serving as the promotion/relegation event. The top 12 teams with the most points will begin at Weekend 2, while the rest will compete through Weekend 1.

The Tier 2 system has also seen some changes. The journey to the Regional Finals will forgo Qualifier Points in favour of placements. The number of Cups has been reduced from three to two, with the top 10 players from each cup now automatically qualifying. In addition, players can also progress through ladder performance.

Sixty-eight players will compete in total, but only the top half will qualify for the next sets’ pro Circuit. The top players from Weekend 2 will move to the Tacticians Crown, where the KO Coliseum will crown its regional champion.

Teamfight Tactics Brings New Esports Hub

The debut of TPC in KO Coliseum comes with a new website, launching on August 20th. In this esports hub, players can gather all there is to know about TPC and the upcoming Paris Open.

The website provides event information for each region, alongside competitor stats, standings and more for each stage of TPC.

The developers also shared that they are looking to expand the website later this year. The website will eventually become ‘the new home’ for the TFT esports ecosystem, including updates, tournaments, standings, schedules and more. This will run on top of regular updates from Compete TFT on X.

Teamfight Tactics KO Coliseum Tier 2

TFT is making its Tier 2 scene more accessible to players with the launch of Set 15: KO Coliseum.

It will now feature a new out-of-client tournament experience, with a test run beginning in the Americas region with Set 15. However, developers have shared that this is an experimental process, and may undergo changes for future sets such as new lobby features or a potentially paid entries.

The tournaments will be smaller, hosting 24 players each without a rank requirement. After 2-5 matches, the top players within the session will have their results displayed on the leader board. However, there will be unlimited tries for participants, where they can play multiple times a day throughout the weekend, until the queue closes.

Teamfight Tactics Paris Open

The Paris Open is scheduled to take place from December 13th to 14th, 2024 at Porte de Versailles in Paris, France. It is an open-bracket event featuring 768 player slots, a 50% increase from the previous year’s event.

It will also include a variety of side activities such as play zones, an artist alley for creators, developer panels, co-streamer meet and greets and a 4v4 competition with a prize pool.

Competitor Passes will be available starting with a pre-sale on September 8th through the new esports website, with prices available from August 20th.
