UFC Vegas 108 featured not one, but two, Fight of the Year candidates and the four men involved were all handsomely rewarded.
Chris Duncan, Mateusz Rebecki, Esteban Ribovics, and Elves Brener are leaving UFC APEX with an extra $50,000 in their pockets after a pair of Fight of the Night awards were handed out Saturday. Normally, the UFC gives bonuses for a pair of finishes and the best fight of the evening, but on this occasion there were two lightweight bouts worthy of extra recognition.
Duncan and Rebecki clashed in the co-main event, going back-and-forth in a war that left the two men bruised and battered. At the end of the 15-minute contest, Duncan came out on top via unanimous decision.
Also winning a hard-earned decision was Ribovics, an Argentinian standout quickly becoming known for his thrilling performances. Ribovics defeated Brener to improve to 4-2 in the UFC and score his third consecutive Fight of the Night bonus. His previous two came against Nasrat Haqparast and Daniel Zellhuber, the latter matchup arguably producing the best fight of 2024.
