Now that Season 4 Reloaded is coming to an end, Black Ops 6 is days away from a brand-new Season 5 update. From the finale of the Zombies storyline to hidden secrets exposed in Verdansk Stadium, there’s a lot to unpack. Naturally, Black Ops 6 Season 5 is bringing an assortment of weapons, maps, and modes for players to sink their teeth into.
Here’s everything you need to know about Season 5, from its start time to the additions you can look forward to in multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies. With Black Ops 7 around the corner, expect updates to slow down for Treyarch’s current title. So make the most of what Season 5 has to offer. And with that, let’s dig in.
Black Ops 6 recap

After a bombastic campaign against the paramilitary group Pantheon by rogue CIA operatives Troy Marshall and Frank Woods, Black Ops 6 received multiple Seasons of new content. The first Season brought fan-favorite maps Nuketown and Urzikstan alongside Zombies’ Directed Mode, guiding players through its Dark Aether storyline’s easter eggs. Season 2 brought game modes like Gun Game and Overdrive, while Zombies mode got a shakeup with its Tomb map.
After that, Season 3 dropped fresh maps and gear in addition to the anticipated return of the Warzone map Verdansk and the continuation of its Zombies storyline. As for Season 4, the update delivered more post-launch content like cel-shaded Black Ops 6 maps, new weapons, and changes in how the Grief game mode worked in Zombies. Players weren’t pleased with some of the cartoonish skins and bugs introduced in the update, meaning developer Treyarch has an uphill battle on its hands with Season 5.
Black Ops 6 Season 5 release date
Black Ops 6 Season 5 will launch on August 7, 2025, at 9 AM PT/12 PM ET/5 PM GMT.
While Season 4 suffered a short delay, expect the next Season to arrive right on schedule. In addition to the conclusion of the Zombies mode, Season 5 brings in new action hero elements in its serving of weapons and maps across its multiplayer and Warzone modes.
In a post from Activision Blizzard, the publisher teased:
“The Rogue Black Ops team is finally back in the good graces of the CIA, and that means access to all the weapons and firepower they could ask for.”
What’s new in Black Ops 6 Season 5?
Season 5 brings a buffet of additions to Black Ops 6’s core modes and maps. The new Battle Pass brings Operator Stogie, two base weapons, and the Infernous legendary blueprint for the Kilo 141 Assault Rifle in addition to BlackCell unlockable content like Operator Solace.
Note that some of these features will either arrive 72 hours after launch, before the mid-season update, or after Season 5 Reloaded is announced. Read on for our detailed Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Season 5 overview with every addition across its multiplayer offerings.
Weapons and attachments

There are four exciting additions to Black Ops 6’s weapons in Season 5:
- The PML 5.56, also known as the M249, is a full-auto light machine gun whose solid rate of fire will let you whittle down foes quickly. Just watch out for its annoying recoil and poor mobility stats.
- The ABR A1’s three-round burst makes this assault rifle perfect for sharpshooters who can handle a fair bit of recoil. Its power will let you take down opponents quickly at medium range. CoD veterans will remember this gun as the AUG.
- Season 5 also brings Boxing Gloves, melee weapons that deal decent amounts of damage quickly against unaware enemies.
- The single-action Gravemark .357 revolver is a high-risk, high-reward option whose low ammo count is offset by its high power and decent range.
Black Ops 6’s battle pass rewards include two base weapons, so we recommend getting them first. As for attachments, Season 5 brings the 9mm PM Skull Splitter barrel and PPSh-41 Helical magazine. The former will raise your pistol’s damage while greatly reducing its fire rate. As for the magazine, use the Helical mag’s extra capacity to spray lead into foes from close and medium range. Season 5 also brings a new Combat Bow scorestreak.
Battle Pass rewards

Black Ops 6 Season 5’s battle pass costs 1,100 CoD points ($9.99 / £8.39), but you’ll have to grind and unlock all of its cosmetics and gear. You can also opt to spend $30 / £25.99 on the BlackCell pass, gaining exclusive rewards and 1,100 CoD points that you can spend as you like.
All the instant rewards from the battle pass:
- 10% battle pass XP Boost
- Stogie Sims Operator and Stogie BlackCell Sims Operator skin (BlackCell only)
- Infernous legendary blueprint for the Kilo 141 assault rifle
- Free Fire emote
- Venom Eye weapon charm
All the instant BlackCell rewards in BO6 Season 5:
- Solace BlackCell Operator
- 10% XP boost
- 1,100 COD points
- Griffin Nabbed finishing move
- Herald mastercraft blueprint for the Krig C assault rifle with Golden Aura tracers and Golden Spirit Death FX
- Iris Rise animated weapon charm
- BlackCell clan tag

Maps

There are three new Black Ops 6 Season 5 multiplayer maps at launch, with another joining them shortly afterwards in the Reloaded update.
New maps in Black Ops 6 Season 5:
- Runway is a medium-sized map set in a ruined aircraft terminal. Sneak past the baggage claim and parked tank to find a destroyed aircraft whose nose serves as a great vantage point against opponents.
- Exchange delivers a stunning marketplace that incorporates a familiar three-lane layout across a Deli, Bar, and Seafood Market. Use shortcuts between lanes to catch foes off-guard and bring your team closer to victory.
- W.M.D. is a classic reimagining of the Nova 6 processing laboratory from Black Ops 1. Instead of facing snow, you’ll be exploring the vehicle manufacturing plant during an overcast day. Veterans might remember this layout, and eagle-eyed fans will spot changes across areas like the showroom and assembly floor.
- Jackpot’s launch will accompany Season 5: Reloaded. This map is set in Casino Luttazzi and is inspired by a mission from the single-player campaign. Wreck the Avalon Casino with your gear as you tear through its exotic decorations.
Modes and Ranked Play

Players can look forward to six new game modes in Season 5 of Black Ops 6. They’re a combination of novel additions and retro callbacks from previous games:
- Aim High: This headshot-focused modifier lets you kill foes instantly with headshots while body armor makes all other forms of damage near-negligible. It can be applied across modes like Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint.
- Snipers Only: Operators can only bring sniper rifles to this fight, so hop back into the practice range to perfect your headshot sprees for this returning game mode.
- Cranked Moshpit: Keep your momentum going by chaining kills together, gaining speed Perks, and keeping your bomb timer ticking in the process.
- Cranked Demolition: If keeping your bomb timer going isn’t enough of a challenge, pair it up with the classic attack and defense mode across two bomb sites. Staying alive takes on a new dimension when you’re chaining kills and securing the objective simultaneously.
- Ransack: Collect gold bars from piles on the map as well as fallen players. Deposit it in your side’s deposit box without getting killed to bring your team enough riches and win the round.
- Blueprint Gunfight: In this returning mode, you’ll get to try new Weapon Blueprints as you face off against your opponents in Gunfight matches.
Season 05 Ranked Play is another opportunity to secure some sweet exclusive loot outside the battle pass. With settings adopted by the official Call of Duty League, you’ll face tough opponents to raise your SR (Skill Rating) and earn fresh rank camos. These rewards range from the Pro Reissue Jackal PDW weapon blueprint and ranked calling cards to Diamond/Crimson/Iridescent weapon camo options.
Events

All four Season 5 events in Black Ops 6 that players can try out:
- ‘90s Action Heroes: In an event that pays tribute to classic action films, grab the nifty Boxing Gloves melee weapon and some more cosmetic rewards by beating your opponents.
- Operation Hell Ride: Score a neat Gravemark .357 Revolver in this event as you race against a timebomb to take down enemy Operators.
- Atomic Block Party: This Nuketown-inspired event promises plenty of rewards during the mid-season.
- The Reckoning Leaderboard Event: All you need to do is play Season 5’s Zombies mode to get started on this leaderboard. Rack up the most points by eliminating Special, Elite, and Boss enemies as you clear Event Challenges at the same time. Climb the ladder to the best of your ability, and you’ll find yourself rewarded accordingly.
Zombies

Experience the final battle between S.A.M. and Richtofen in the Janus Towers map (called Reckoning) as a part of Season 5’s “Reckoning” questline in Call of Duty Black Ops 6. Take down robot Kommando Klaus battalions and go face-to-face with the Elite Uber Klaus, a menacing automaton whose super strength will test your teamwork and coordination. Avoid its melee attacks and weaken its shielding to expose its exoskeleton and trigger its second phase. You’re in for a treat as the Zombies mode barrels towards an epic conclusion.
Get your hands on the fungal Gorgofex Wonder Weapon, delivering area-of-effect damage on charged blasts that catch and incapacitate enemies. It’ll come in handy as you face zombified Project Janus security and the remains of mutated hazmat crews. Keep an eye out for the new field upgrade Mister Peeks as well. Beat the main Reckoning quest to earn the Blood, Sweat, an’ Gears Operator skin for Grey, a weapon charm, calling cards, and a healthy bunch of XP. The update brings new Grief Arenas that deliver the 4v4 Zombies combat you love, as well as a Directed Mode mid-season to focus on the main quest’s objectives.
Warzone

What you should keep your iron sights on in the Warzone update coming with Season 5 of Black Ops 6:
- A massive disruption on the Verdansk map will task you with a new multi-step Satellite Hijack contract set within Verdansk Stadium.
- Warzone’s Season 5 content includes two new game modes: Stadium Resurgence and Deadline. The former lets you buy back fallen allies as you take down hostiles, while Deadline is a risky challenge that eliminates the lowest-scoring squad.
- Battle Royale and Resurgence Ranked Play bring new seasonal rewards as you climb their Skill Divisions. These include weapon charms, camos, and calling cards.
Conclusion
Black Ops 6’s Season 5 update brings several additions to its multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies components. Its action hero elements will hopefully bolster the game’s reputation after its ridiculous skins and Battlefield 6’s positive reception. Season 5 will also have a movie tie-in with ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer,’ featuring Operator skins and other cosmetics from the horror film in a Tracer Pack.
Thanks to a new battle pass, you’ll be able to grab gear and cosmetics from jumping into Season 5’s new maps and modes. And with Black Ops 7 releasing this year, Treyarch is wrapping up BO6’s Zombies mode with a final encounter that features a terrifying Uber Klaus robot.
