
Over the past weekend, Fortnite’s FNCS Major 3 Grand Finals concluded with seven trios from each region crowning their respective champions.
Similar to other FNCS Majors, 33 teams competed for a chance to win a share of a $2m (~£1.5m) prize pool and one of the remaining places at the FNCS Global Championship.
With the finals for each region concluded, Esports Insider has all there is to know about the teams securing a Victory Royale and those who have advanced to Lyon, France.
Europe
Europe’s FNCS Major 3 Grand Finals was won by the Danish trio of Tjino, PabloWingu, and Fredoxie, managing to improve on its second-place finish from Major 2. The team took home $180,000 (~£135,621) in prize money after securing its place at the Global Championship earlier in the year.
Major 2 winners Vayak3kk (Gentle Mates), Pixie (Team HavoK), and MariusCOW (Gentle Mates) continued to impress, scoring third place and $81,000 (~£61,014).
As a result of the top three sides already earning a place at the Global Championship, the following trios booked their places at the season-ending event for the battle royale title after earning a top-ten placement:
- Setty, Japko (Team Falcons), panzer (FLC Clan) – 4th place
- FoCus, Mikson, Upl (Northern Star Gaming) – 6th place
- IDrop (Team HavoK), charyy, Kami (Al Qadsiah) – 8th place
- Chap, MrSavage (Red Bull eSports), rezon ay – 9th place
NA Central
NA Central saw Ritual (XSET), Peterbot (Team Falcons), and Cold (Twisted Minds) cement their place as the region’s best trio after successfully defending the Major 2 title. Notably, the trio has placed no lower than third across all three FNCS Majors.
Ajerss (Elite Esports) Acorn (Dignitas), and Pollo (Gentle Mates) took the runner-up spot in Major 3, building on its fifth-place finish from Major 2.
Rounding out the top three were Rapid (Xen), Khanada (Dignitas), and Boltz (Xen), earning $51,000 (~£38,408) and a spot at the Global Finals.
Elsewhere, the fifth-placed trio of Muz (XSET), Sphinx, and Shadow (2AM Esports) took the final Global Championship spot for NA Central.
NA West
For NA West, one place in the Global Final was up for grabs. Bacca (Marine Region), Parz, and PXMP (Elite Esports) emerged victorious, going one better from its second place earned in Major 2.
Ark (Sorin Esports), Sxhool (TYT Esports), and Salko (2AM Esports) finished Major 3 in second. With the top two trios earning qualification for Lyon in earlier tournaments, the third-placed side of VicterV, EpikWhale (FaZe Clan), and paper advanced to the Global Finals.
Brazil
Similar to NA West, the Brazilian region competed for one spot at the Global Finals taking place in September, with the winner advancing. The Team TRIBE trio of WeY, Gabzera, and Scarpa, managed to earn the Victory Royale, after missing out in Major 2 with a second-place finish.
The Major 2 winners of Stryker (Gremio Esports), Tisco (ShindeN), and Cadu continued to cement its place at the top of the region, ending Major 3 in fourth place.
Asia
Major 1 winners Rise (Riddle), yuma (ZETA Division), and Koyota (ZETA Division) returned to the top of Asia, with victory in Major 3. Major 2 winners Raito (EDGE), Razl (Crazy Raccoon), and Kimkana (Crazy Raccoon) scored the runners-up spot.
With both teams already qualified for the Global Finals, the trio of Merem (QT DIG), wickesy (FISTERIA) and Buyuriru (Detonation FocusMe), which finished Major 3 in third place, earned the region’s final Global Finals spot along with $9,000 (~£6,766) in prize money.
Middle East
The Middle Eastern esports scene continues to grow at an impressive rate, with 33 teams dropping into the action to earn the region’s final spot in Fortnite’s biggest esports event.
Balor, Adapter (Al Ula), and Mansour (Al Ula) took victory in their debut as a trio, locking in their place at the Global Finals.
Elsewhere, the Major 2 winners of 5aald (Glory Esports), FKS (Al Ula) and Hero (Al Ula) continued to prove their skills as one of the region’s strongest sides, finishing Major 3 in third place.
Oceania
Two places in the Global Finals were on the line in Oceania’s FNCS Major 3 Grand Final. Major 2 runners-up, Resignz (Team Vanish), alex (PWR), and Anon (Frantik Esports), managed to secure victory, cementing their position as one of Oceania’s best trios.
As a result of the winners already qualifying from a previous event, the second-place side of Tinka (JFT Esports), Cazi (Armour Esports), and Aspect (RVL Esport) and the third-place trio of Verman, Solvey (Lavish Esports), and Skits have earned the two qualification spots.
What’s Next For Fortnite?
With the FNCS Majors for all regions now complete, attention turns to the Global Championship taking place at the LDLC Arena from September 6th to 9th.
The 33 trios will compete across 12 matches to earn points based on the number of eliminations scored and the final placement. The team with the most points at the end of 12 matches will earn the lion’s share of the $2m (~£1.5m) prize pool.
