Season 26 of Apex is full of powerful guns, and quite a few weapons received tweaks at the beginning of August. As such, our list ranks the best weapons in Apex Legends as of August 7, 2025.

In Season 26, there are dozens of guns to pick up and use on the FPS battlefield. The best guns are those that have a quick time to kill (TTK), while not compromising on secondary stats, like recoil and reload speed. Each weapon is unique, and there are viable options for every weapon type in Apex Legends.

Volt, Flatline, G-7 Scout, Kraber, Nemesis, Bocek

The top weapons in Apex Legends as of Season 26 include many fan-favourite guns, including the .50-Cal Kraber, an exceptionally powerful sniper rifle that can defeat enemies in a flash. The Bocek is also a strong choice for fans of compound bows or ranged weapons, though it has a much higher learning curve for the average player.

If you’re looking for an S-Tier gun for close-combat encounters, then perhaps the energy-based Volt SMG or Flatline AR has the faster fire rate you seek. The Nemesis offers powerful burst damage, while the G-7 Scout excels at taking out nearby enemies in just a few shots. No matter which weapon you pick from the S-Tier rank, you can rest assured that it’ll offer a leg-up over other guns in the Season 26 loot pool.

R-99, Rampage, Peacekeeper, Prowler, 30-30 Repeater, Mastiff, CAR, Spitfire

Just below S-Tier is A-Tier, which includes a collection of viable weaponry. The arsenal in this rank includes guns like the CAR SMG and the Spitfire LMG; both are terrific for those who like fully-automatic weapons. For those seeking a slower option, the 30-30 Repeater should be on your radar since it can take out enemy opponents in just a few hits.

The R-99 and Prowler are two more SMGs that both offer high DPS, though at the cost of efficiency in certain ranged combat encounters. For shotgun fans, the Mastiff and Peacekeeper are both powerful guns for close-quarters. Finally, the Rampage is a beast of an LMG, especially if you use a Thermite Grenade to increase its fire rate. A-Tier weapons are great, and you’re bound to find a few throughout each match.

RE-45 Burst, Charge Rifle, Wingman, Havoc, EVA-8, R-301, P2020, Devotion, L-Star

B-Tier is an interesting place to be for a weapon in Apex Legends. While guns like the Wingman revolver, the Charge Rifle, and the P2020 pistol aren’t the strongest guns in Apex, they’re all reliable weapons, especially for secondary slots. The Devotion has a unique ability allowing its fire rate to speed up as you shoot, though this LMG is still average because it takes some time to reach its full potential.

Players who prefer energy weapons will have a fun time with the RE-45 Burst, though it’s best utilised as a secondary gun. The L-Star, Havoc, and R-301 are all powerful guns that pack an automatic punch, while the EVA-8 provides a unique, fully automatic option for shotgun users.

Mozambique, Sentinel, Triple Take, Longbow, Hemlok

We’ve placed fewer weapons in C-Tier than in B, primarily because most guns in Apex are simply average. While long-range C-Tier weapons like the Sentinel and the Longbow can be effective snipers in the hands of skilled players, they can’t compete with the Kraber’s high damage. The Triple Take does have some unique usage, but it has low damage for a marksman rifle.

The Mozambique received a buff to its fire rate in Season 26, elevating it to C-Tier. Apex’s Hemlock Burst AR is arguably the strongest gun we’ve ranked in C, but only if wielded by a player skilled with burst weapons. C-Tier weapons aren’t the worst, but unfortunately, they can’t be called average either.

Alternator

By our ranking, D-Tier weapons are rare in Apex Legends, but they do exist. Currently, we believe the Alternator SMG to be among the worst weapons in competitive Apex, especially since it’s primarily useful as a main weapon.

The Alternator isn’t very powerful since its overall DPS is lower than other submachine guns, though its accuracy could be considered better than alternative weapons in close-combat circumstances. D-Tier guns won’t elevate you to the pro level, but they can be useful for early-game or for those who don’t care about the meta.

The recent balancing of Apex’s arsenal and the continued updates to legends throughout 2025 have rejuvenated Respawn’s FPS in a major way, as there are now tons of guns that are viable for competitive play.
