Prominent B2B esports data company Bayes Esports has reportedly filed for insolvency, according to a report by The Esports Advocate.

The report dictates that Bayes Esports was placed under administration in late May, with the Charlottenburg district court in Berlin, Germany, determining Bayes ‘illiquid and over-indebted’ on August 1st.

Creditors will be able to register claims until October 24th 2025, with attorney Dr. Benedikt de Bruyn appointed as a court-mandated insolvency administrator. The creditors include the likes of service providers, investors, data partners and former staff.

Esports Insider has reached out to Bayes Esports regarding The Esports Advocate’s report and will update this article if any further information is provided.

Despite being announced in a partnership as late as March 2025, the past month has seen many staff members announce their exit from the company. Notable departures include Ben Steenhuisen, Bayes’ Chief Software Architect, and the company’s PR and Content Manager, Gabrielle Runzer, among others

According to The Esports Advocate’s sources, a small core team is currently operating the company to help sell Bayes’ assets, discuss merger opportunities and help employees find work.

Bayes’ Impact in the Esports Industry

Whilst Bayes Esports was founded in 2019, the company’s roots date back to 2014 under the DOJA Madness name. The company has been a prominent player in the esports data space, working with tournament organisers to provide official data solutions to bolster fan engagement.

The company has also worked with multiple gambling stakeholders to provide official esports data that can be used to improve betting offerings in the space.

In particular, Bayes has a long-term partnership with tournament organiser ESL FACEIT Group. Initially starting in 2019, the company recently renewed its deal with ESL in 2025. Moreover, Bayes secured a significant partnership with sports data company Genius Sports in 2024. This deal has since been expanded to include fellow esports data competitor GRID.

It has yet to be revealed what will happen to these partnerships following Bayes’ recent developments.

One big blow for Bayes commercially was regarding the Esports World Cup 2025. After initially sharing a partnership with GRID for the 2024 Esports World Cup, the latter was selected as a partner of the 2025 edition.
