After five days of online qualifiers, the eight teams competing at the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Playoffs have been determined.

Three-quarters of the 32-team field has been whittled down, with several of the world’s best Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) teams in contention to take home the lion’s share of the prize money in Malta.

Ahead of the Playoffs, Esports Insider takes a closer look at the qualified teams and the roster’s road to the playoffs.

Team Vitality

The world’s best CS2 team continues to impress in international competitions with another appearance at a Tier 1 LAN. Team Vitality breezed past NRG (2-0) and Legacy (2-0) to secure its place at the Playoffs and looks to be the team to beat once again.

After a defeat to MOUZ at IEM Cologne 2025, the French organisation aims to bounce back and cement its place at the top of the esport.

MOUZ

Throughout the online stage, MOUZ opened its Hamburg headquarters for fans to watch the team compete. Despite the added pressure of having fans in attendance, the German organisation eased its way to qualification.

Victories over OG Esports (2-1) and B8 (2-0) earned a place in the Playoffs, giving it another chance of scoring a tournament win, having come so close in previous tournaments.

Team Spirit

Fresh from winning IEM Cologne, Team Spirit was pushed hard to book its place in the BLAST Bounty Playoffs.

2-1 wins over Passion UA and G2 Esports eventually saw the team advance to the top eight. With a $60,000 (~£44,559) prize on its head, the Russian organisation could be a potential target for teams looking to score a surprise win.

The MongolZ

The MongolZ managed to overcome a defiant ENCE (2-1) side in the round of 32 to advance to a last 16 clash against PaiN Gaming.

The Mongolian national team dispatched the Brazilians in a hard-fought 2-0 win to earn a place in the Playoffs. With a $61,250 (~£45,283) bounty, the team could be in the crosshairs of an underdog hoping to bag some extra prize money.

Astralis

Astralis has continued its resurgence in the second half of 2025 with an appearance in the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Playoffs. After dominating Rare Atom (2-0) in its first match, the Danish organisation faced off against NAVI to continue its momentum.

A 2-1 win capped off with a 13-2 victory on Nuke in map three booked its place in the top eight, giving it an excellent chance to earn all-important Valve Regional Standings (VRS) points and plenty of prize money.

Aurora Gaming

Following the return of İsmailсan ‘XANTARES’ Dörtkardeş to the starting line-up, Aurora Gaming will be looking to build on the second-place finish scored at BLAST Bounty Season 1 earlier in the year.

2-0 sweeps of FlyQuest and HEROIC in the qualifiers saw glimpses of a team that could make a deep run into the tournament.

Virtus.pro

With such a stacked field of teams competing at BLAST Bounty Season 2, few predicted Virtus.pro to make an appearance at the Playoffs.

After a comfortable victory over MIBR (2-0), the team carried its momentum into a clash against FaZe Clan, winning the series 2-1 to knock the fan-favourites out of the tournament.

Currently ranked 17th in the VRS, a strong showing in the Playoffs will cement Virtus.pro’s place among the world’s best sides.

Team Liquid

After surviving a 54-round Train against ECSTATIC in the opening round, Team Liquid looked to have rediscovered some form during the online phase of the tournament.

A win over ECSTATIC (2-0) set up a battle against an in-form FURIA side, a battle Team Liquid managed to overcome with a 2-1 victory.

Having struggled throughout the first half of the year, there’s a chance Team Liquid can earn some valuable VRS points after dropping down to 26th in the August rankings.

How To Watch BLAST Bounty Season 2 Playoffs

Taking place from August 14th to 17th at BLAST’s Malta studio, fans can tune into the Playoffs through the event organiser’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
