Cloud9 New York has become the latest Call of Duty League (CDL) franchise to part ways with its roster following the conclusion of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 season.

The decision follows the franchise scoring a tenth-place finish during the 2024/25 season.

On August 12th, 2025, the franchise announced all four of its players from the past year, along with coach Lamar ‘Accuracy‘ Abedi, have departed after disappointing performances across online and LAN matches.

Cloud9 New York began the year with signs of building a roster capable of competing among the more established names, scoring a top-eight placement at Major 1 and finishing in the top six at Major 2. The second half of the season, however, was a struggle, with consecutive top-12 finishes at Major 3 and 4 ruling the franchise out of Champs contention.

At the Esports World Cup, the franchise was unable to end the year on a high, earning another top-12 placement to cap off an underwhelming debut year.

“We want to thank Sib, Kremp, Gwinn, Spart, and Accuracy for their contributions during our inaugural year in the CDL,” said the franchise.

The 2025 season marked the first time Cloud9 has fielded a Call of Duty roster since it departed the scene in 2017. In August 2024, it acquired the New York Subliners to compete in the CDL.

What Next For Cloud9 New York?

Having struggled to compete against the top teams, a rebuild for Cloud9 New York has the potential to lay the foundations for long-term success throughout the Black Ops 7 season.

The franchise hasn’t been linked with any moves during the early stages of the off-season, which has seen 11 of the 12 CDL franchises making some form of change in a bid to dethrone OpTic Texas from the top spot.
