Data and technology company GRID has announced a partnership with New Zealand-based mobile and online video game developer Ninja Kiwi.
According to the deal, GRID will provide its GRID Play solution to tower defence game Legion TD 2. As such, GRID will offer in-game data infrastructure, distribution and community engagement solutions to Ninja Kiwi to support new player-facing features, decision-making and internal development workflows.
This marks the first time GRID has extended the use of its own platform beyond AAA esports titles.
Legion TD 2 will be the first official integration of GRID Play — the newest solution designed by the company specifically for indie developers to track the full player base in-game data.
Built on GRID’s technology, it aims to enable games of all sizes to access, leverage and commercialise in-game data without the added complexity and engineering resources. GRID Play is already live in Legion TD 2, with full leaderboard and stats features expected to launch later this summer.
“GRID Play was designed to let developers focus on making great games, not managing complex data,” commented Chris King, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder at GRID.
“The AutoAttack Games team at Ninja Kiwi has developed a game with a passionate player base and strong community-driven ecosystem behind it—qualities where reliable data infrastructure and insightful player stats can add meaningful value.”
