North American esports organisation Sentinels has announced the departure of half of its Marvel Rivals roster following the Ignite Mid Season Finals earlier this month.
The players in question include Mark ‘Karova’ Kvashin, Ryan ‘Rymazing’ Bishop and Anthony ‘Supergomez’ Gomez, who have now left five months after first joining the organisation.
Each of the players confirmed news of their departure on socials, with Rymazing confirming that he is ‘parting ways’ with Sentinels. Karova shared that it was ‘time to move on’ and Supergomez announced that he is ‘looking for opportunities.’
In response to the announcement online, Chassidy ‘aramori’ Kaye, Sentinels’ Strategist player, said: “What a wonderful year we got to spend together, and we achieved so much. Farewell to my teammates, and good luck to my friends.”
Christopher ‘Anexile’ Chiu, Marvel Rivals analyst for Sentinels, also shared that they were leaving the organisation and looking for new opportunities ahead of Ignite Stage 2.
Sentinels’ Journey in Marvel Rivals so far
It is a bitter end for Sentinels after what has been a strong year so far for the American organisation within the Marvel Rivals esports scene.
Sentinels first joined the scene on March 3rd, 2025, three months after the game first launched. It kick-started its journey with a win on the very first Rivals Fight Night event.
Its first major event would arrive a few weeks later in the form of the Marvel Rivals Invitational 2025 in North America, placing third overall.
Sentinels would then establish itself as one of the top teams in the scene after winning the Marvel Rivals Championship for Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, defeating 100 Thieves 4-0 in the grand finals.
Arguably, its most notable achievement so far was becoming the Ignite Stage 1 Americas champion after narrowly beating 100 Thieves in a 4-3 win during the Grand Finals. However, things took a turn for the worse after Sentinels saw an early knockout in the Marvel Rivals Mid Season Finals, losing 2-3 to EMEA Stage 1 champion, Citadel Gaming (Brr Brr Patapim), during the first round of the Lower Brackets.
What’s Next for Sentinels?
The next event Sentinels is expected to participate in is Ignite Stage 2 later this year after being invited through its Stage 1 performance. Exact dates for the competition have yet to be revealed, but it is expected to take place between September and October.
As of writing, Sentinels has yet to announce any replacements for its roster ahead of the event. So far, only aramori, Jacob ‘teki’ Lebel-Frenette, and Jimmy ‘nectar’ Lebel-Frenette remain in the roster. It is also possible that Sentinels’ coach, William ‘Crimzo’ Hernandez, could step in as a player as he has done for previous occasions.
Sentinels is not the only team undergoing changes after Stage 1. The Ignite Mid Season Finals Champions roster has also shared that it is leaving Rad EU and looking for a new organisation to sign with.
