North American esports organisation Sentinels has announced that Jilani ‘Avery’ Bouajila will join its Marvel Rivals roster as its new Duellist player.
The organisation also shared that Overwatch 2 coach and analyst Caleb ‘McGravy’ McGarvey will join as the new head coach for Marvel Rivals.
News of their arrival comes shortly after Sentinels announced the departure of three Marvel Rivals players: Mark ‘Karova’ Kvashin, Ryan ‘Rymazing’ Bishop and Anthony ‘Supergomez’ Gomez.
Avery Joins as New DPS Player
Avery formerly played for the roster known as tekixd, which competed in Marvel Rivals Ignite Stage 1. The roster became one of four teams to win in the Americas Open Qualifiers Split 2, defeating ING’s Esports 2-0.
In Stage 1 Americas, tekixd placed sixth overall after defeating FlyQuest in the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals, but losing to Sentinels in the semi-finals. The team was then knocked out after losing 3-2 to SHROUD-X in the Lower Bracket Finals.
Avery is also a former Fortnite pro player whose highest accomplishment was placing first in the Chapter 3 Season 2 FNCS Grand Finals for North America East in 2022 alongside Josh ‘Commandment‘ Roach as part of Cloud9.
McGravy enters the Marvel Rivals scene

McGravy makes his first venture into Marvel Rivals as part of Sentinels, with the organisation highlighting how he was formerly a ‘World Champion’.
The coach is known for his many years of experience in the Overwatch scene, from the Overwatch League (OWL) before its shuttering to his recent appearances at OWCS NA Stage 1 as an analyst. He also made an appearance as an Overwatch 2 analyst for the Esports World Cup 2024 tournament.
However, in a post online, McGravy shared that it was ‘the end of the road’ for his Overwatch journey in light of UC Irvine Esports sunsetting its Overwatch 2 programme earlier this year.
Arguably his greatest achievement was coaching Florida Mayhem as it won the OWL 2023 Playoffs. The team scored 4-0 against Houston Outlaws in the Grand Finals, and took home $1m (~£757,257) in prize money.
McGravy will now support Sentinels’ Marvel Rivals team ahead of esports events such as Ignite Stage 2.
