The Battlefield 6 release date is just around the corner, and the open beta helped hold gamers over until its full release. Tons of guns will be available in BF6 at launch, so we’ve put together a tier list that’ll let you in on which weapons are truly the strongest, based on our experiences during the beta.

This BF6 weapons tier list will lay out which guns were the best in the Battlefield 6 beta based on our experiences and their gameplay stats.

Some weapons have more recoil, while others have access to powerful attachments, so you’ll see a wide variety of factors at play in our ranking of the best weapons in Battlefield 6.

Disclaimer: The Battlefield 6 open beta gave us a glimpse into what to expect out of BF6’s weaponry, but any of the guns we used could be changed in the full release.

How our weapons tier list was compiled

  • S-Tier – Only the strongest weapons in the Battlefield 6 open beta made it into this rank. Each S-Tier weapon has impressive damage and reliable stats.
  • A-Tier – This tier is full of reliable weapons, but there are usually better options, especially with the right attachments.
  • B-Tier – Perfectly average weapons that you’ll find have both advantages and downsides.
  • C-Tier – Not worthwhile as primary weapons, but they can be useful in specific combat situations.
  • D-Tier – These weapons aren’t very strong, so it’d be better to look elsewhere for your loadout. C-Tier guns usually output low damage or are difficult to control.

Our tiers reflect how we ranked the best and worst weapons in the Battlefield 6 open beta, which primarily consisted of guns.

BF6 beta weapons tier list in brief

The BF6 open beta offered access to 15 guns and a knife, so we got to test out quite a few power-packed weapons. Different guns have separate stats like mobility and precision, so read on to find our detailed walkthrough for the weapons in each tier.

Tier Weapons
S-Tier B36A4, M2010 ESR
A-Tier M4A1, M417 A2, M87A1, NVO-228E, KTS100 MK8
B-Tier M39 EMR, AK-205, SVK-8.6, M433, PW7A2
C-Tier P18, Melee Knife, SGX
D-Tier L110

S-Tier

We only found two guns to be deserving of an S-Tier spot. The B36A4 is a powerful assault rifle that’s not too hard to control, so it’s perfect for a skilled Battlefield player. On the other hand, the M2010 ESR was a fantastic pick during the open beta since it’s a sniper rifle with high damage per shot.

The smaller maps present in the BF6 beta had some corridors and windows that proved perfect for sniping, so the M2010 ESR provided a great weapon choice in locations like Siege of Cairo.

A-Tier

There are five BF6 guns in A-Tier, and for good reason. There were many weapons in the Battlefield 6 beta that were viable for competitive play, but weren’t quite the best. For example, both the M4A1 and the M417 A2 are solid guns classified as carbines, though their damage can be topped by other weapons.

The M87A1 is a shotgun with greater range than you’d expect, and it packs quite a punch, too, but controlling it can present a challenge at first. The NVO-228E is an AR with decent mobility, while the KTS100 MK8 is a strong LMG with fantastic control and precision stats, so either is a good fit for your new loadout.

B-Tier

B-Tier contains five weapons, and while each is strong in its own way, they aren’t quite as powerful as the guns in the higher tiers. The M39 EMR is a DMR that offers the user precise aim, though its damage isn’t as high as something like the M2010. Additionally, the AK-205 is another gun that’s not particularly powerful, but looks great on the surface due to its high range.

The SVK-8.6 may hit harder than other weapon types, but it’s just an average DMR in our opinion. Finally, the M433 AR and the PW7A2 SMG both fire shots at a quick pace, though their low damage value could be a liability in combat. Even though players can use B-Tier weapons for competitive play, we would recommend you consider an S or A-Tier BF6 gun first.

C-Tier

The P18 is a pistol, while the Knife is a melee weapon. Neither of these weapons is strong, but they’re also not intended to be used as primary weapons, so we believe they deserve a place in C-Tier.

As the final weapon in C-Tier, the SGX is a submachine gun that works well in close-combat situations, but it’s not particularly powerful. C-Tier weapons aren’t the worst; there’s just something better to use in most matches.

D-Tier

While we enjoyed using the L110, this light machine gun proved to be one of the worst primary weapons in the Battlefield 6 open beta. Though the L110’s magazine is large, its hipfire and damage leave something to be desired. With the right practice, the L110 can be useful, but you’re better off picking a gun with stronger mobility and faster time-to-kill.

Conclusion

We only had a chance to test out about 15 guns during the open beta, but so far, we’ve been impressed by the weapons in Battlefield 6. Every gun has its own damage, recoil, and fire rate, offering an expansive arsenal to try at your own pace.

Whether you prefer sniper rifles or light machine guns, you’ll likely find something that suits your play style when Battlefield 6 hits the physical and virtual shelves in October. We’ll be updating our BF6 weapons tier list accordingly, and then often, so you’re kept in the loop of what to use and what should be avoided.
