The VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Ascension Pacific tournament will see the top ten qualified teams from Challengers in the region compete to decide the best amongst them.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from October 13th to 26th, as an offline event in Bangkok. The rosters have fought their way to Ascension through the regional Challengers Leagues and VCT Pacific, hoping to get promotion for next year.

These are all of the teams competing and how they qualified for the event:

  • Nongshim RedForce – VCT Pacific Stage 2
  • BOOM Esports – VCT Pacific Championship Points
  • Motiv Esports – Southeast Asia Split 3 Playoffs
  • NAOS Esports – Southeast Asia Split 3 Playoffs
  • FULL SENSE – Southeast Asia Split 3 Playoffs
  • Team NKT – Southeast Asia Split 3 Playoffs
  • TBD – Challengers Korea Road to Ascension
  • RIDDLE – Challengers Japan Season Finals
  • Velocity Gaming – Challengers South Asia Grand Final
  • E-King – Challengers Oceania Circuit Point Standings

Top Teams to Look Out For

Two of the biggest names to keep an eye on in the competition are Nongshim RedForce and BOOM Esports. Both teams have been placed in the top ten highest-ranked teams in the Pacific Championship Point Standings, from Kickoff through to Stage 2.

Nongshim RedForce competes in Ascension through its performance in the VCT Pacific Stage 2 tournament. It placed fifth overall, outperforming well-known organisations such as Team Secret, ZETA Division, and even Gen.G Esports.

However, Nongshim Redforce was knocked out of the competition by TALON in the first round of the Upper Bracket Playoffs, losing 2-0. As a result, Nongshim Redforce enters the tournament hoping to redeem itself with a win.

BOOM Esports is another noteworthy team competing, following its performance in VCT so far. The organisation is the eighth-highest-ranked team in the VCT Championship Points for the region, surviving relegation to the Challengers League.

However, BOOM Esports has also been struggling in the scene recently. It was among the first teams to be eliminated from the VCT Pacific Stage 2 tournament after placing at the bottom of its group during the Group Stage, ending with a 0-5 win/loss ratio. Only time will tell if BOOM Esports will show a stronger performance during Ascension.

In addition to this, there are a few Challengers League teams that are worth watching as potential dark hroses of the tournament. E-KING has consistently topped the Oceania Circuit Point standings in both Splits, cementing itself as a powerhouse of the region.

Meanwhile, RIDDLE has qualified for the competition after defeating established teams such as REJECT and FENNEL in Japan’s Season Finals.
