Boyd Gaming Corporation and Fanatics Betting & Gaming have announced a strategic partnership to enter the Missouri sports betting market.
Under a multi-year contract, Fanatics Sportsbook will open branded retail sportsbooks at Boyd’s Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City and Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa St. Charles near St. Louis, as well as run mobile sports betting in Missouri under Boyd’s existing sports betting license.
Depending on all regulatory approvals, Fanatics intends to introduce its retail and online sports betting products in Missouri in December. Customers can download the Fanatics Sportsbook app on iOS and Android devices when it launches.
Missouri Betting Market Landscape and Competitive Context
With up to 21 licenses available across retail and online platforms, Missouri is expected to emerge as a major player in the US sports betting market by 2025.
Major operators like FanDuel have entered through market-access agreements, such as their agreement with Major League Soccer’s St. Louis City SC, while DraftKings and Circa Sports have recently been granted untethered licenses.
After Boyd Gaming sold its FanDuel stake earlier in 2025, Fanatics’ entry is a significant step that establishes Fanatics as Boyd’s new Missouri partner. All betting market development and trading will be handled internally by the company.
All of the major sports, including professional and collegiate football, basketball, hockey, baseball, tennis, soccer, golf, mixed martial arts, and boxing, will have betting options at the upcoming retail sportsbooks.
The goal of these venues is to offer a legitimate and engaging sports betting experience. The partnership is in line with Missouri’s new retail and online betting laws, which will go into effect in December.
It also reflects an increasing trend of joint ventures between digital betting operators and well-known casino businesses to gain access to regulated markets.
