Man City Esports, the esports branch of English football club Manchester City, has announced the departure of EA Sports FC player Donovan ‘Tekkz‘ Hunt.

The two-time ePremier League champion will leave the club following the completion of his current contract.

The departure of Tekkz brings a two-year tenure with Man City Esports to an end after joining from Fnatic in 2023. The 24-year-old British player is one of the most successful FIFA and EA FC players in the world, having won the FIFA eClub World Cup in 2019.

Man City Esports is the only organisation to secure two ePremier League championships. In 2024 and 2025, it defeated Brighton and Hove Albion in the Grand Final on both occasions, cementing its place as one of the top football clubs competing in EA FC esports.

“It’s fair to say Tekkz leaves City having created not just a legacy at the club, but also in the esports community,” said Man City Esports on its website.

“Everyone at City would like to thank Tekkz for his hard work during his time at the club, and we wish him the very best of luck in his future career steps.”

Tekkz is the second player to leave Man City Esports in 2025. On August 27th, Spanish player Ander ‘Neat’ Tobal departed after a year representing the organisation. The Spaniard recently competed in the last-chance qualifiers for the FC Pro World Championship but failed to make it to the main event.

What Next For Tekkz?

Following his departure from Man City Esports, Tekkz has yet to announce his next steps ahead of the next FC Pro esports season.

Ahead of EA Sports FC 26’s release, EA Sports has unveiled a wealth of changes that are being introduced ahead of the 2025/26 season. Changes include adjustments to qualification pathways along with greater access through a dedicated in-game hub.
