The GeoGuessr World Cup 2025 has become the most-watched GeoGuessr tournament of all time, breaking its highest peak viewing figure.

The event was won by Radu ‘Radu C‘ Casapu, who took home the lion’s share of its $108,480 (~£80,953) prize pool.

According to Esports Charts, this year’s edition of the GeoGuessr World Cup hit a peak of 363,415, eclipsing the peak recorded at last year’s event by over 65,000. As a result, the peak viewership increased by almost 22%, signalling impressive growth for the geography-based guessing game.

In addition to breaking its peak viewership record, the GeoGuessr World Cup 2025 also set a new record for the number of hours watched throughout the two-day event, which took place in Copenhagen’s K.B. Hallen Arena.

The event recorded 1.67m hours watched across its 19-hour airtime, a slight increase on the 1.611m hours watched during 2024’s event.

Although GeoGuessr isn’t viewed as a typical esports title like Counter-Strike 2 and League of Legends, the title has continued to experience growth following the launch of its esports circuit in July 2023.

The Growth Of GeoGuessr Esports

GeoGuessr’s esports scene is continuing to build momentum, and in the past two years, viewership for its World Cup has increased by over 400%.

This year’s circuit saw offline events take place in Japan, the United States, and Sweden, along with online events to determine which players earn a place at the season-ending World Cup.

At the end of the 2025 World Cup broadcast, the event organisers teased the location for the GeoGuessr World Cup 2026 event. Fans have already seemingly deciphered that next year’s tournament will take place in Berlin, Germany.

Aside from the teaser, GeoGuessr is yet to share information on the 2026 circuit, including details on the locations of offline events expected to take place.
