After a week of qualifiers, the six teams competing in the BLAST Open London playoffs have been decided.

BLAST’s latest Counter-Strike 2 event is the 16th Tier 1 event of the season, providing another opportunity for the world’s best teams to earn Valve Regional Standings (VRS) points, which determine which rosters secure qualification for the Major.

Ahead of the LAN playoffs, Esports Insider takes a closer look at the teams that will be heading to London for a chance to be crowned champion.

BLAST Open London 2025 Playoff Teams

The online qualifiers created some surprising results, with the likes of Team Spirit and NAVI failing to secure a place in the playoffs. The struggles of Team Liquid continued, with losses to G2 Esports and Team Spirit putting the team in danger of dropping out of the top 32. Here are the six contenders for the BLAST trophy:

Team Vitality

One of the world’s best CS2 teams continued to demonstrate its ability to perform at the highest level by qualifying from Group A with the top seed.

Although M80, GamerLegion, and FaZe Clan managed to secure map wins, the French organisation remains in contention to add another trophy to its ever-expanding cabinet. Team Vitality will be looking to bounce back from a rare slight dip in form, with the organisation failing to win its last two events – BLAST Bounty Fall 2025 and the Esports World Cup 2025.

FaZe Clan

BLAST Open London marks the debut of Jakub ‘jcobbb’ Pietruszewski on the FaZe Clan line-up, and the change appears to have sparked an upward turn in form.

Wins over ECSTATIC and NAVI secured a place in the playoffs, while a hard-fought 2-1 defeat to Team Vitality earned a quarter-final spot. Two of the three maps against the French went to overtime, a positive sign of FaZe Clan managing to compete against the best in the world.

M80

Throughout 2025, North American Counter-Strike has struggled to contend with other regions. However, M80 has managed to restore some faith in the region, scoring surprise victories over Virtus.pro and NAVI in the lower bracket to set up a clash with Fnatic for the final Group B playoff place.

The North American side looked strong from the outset, scoring a comfortable 2-0 win over Fnatic to earn M80’s first Tier 1 playoff appearance.

FURIA

FURIA has become a force to be reckoned with in the second half of 2025, with Gabriel ‘FalleN‘ Toledo leading the charge with some excellent performances in recent competitions.

A 2-1 win over Legacy in its opening Group B match set up a tantalising clash against Team Spirit, with FURIA sweeping aside the BLAST Bounty Season 2 champions to earn a playoff place.

Momentum continued in the upper bracket final with a 2-0 win over MOUZ to lock in a semi-final place.

MOUZ

Despite a defeat to FURIA in the upper bracket final of Group B, MOUZ has successfully secured another playoff place, continuing its incredible, consistent run in tier 1 events.

Although Imperial Esports scored a shock 13-2 win on Overpass in MOUZ’s opening quarter-final match, the German organisation bounced back to win the series 2-1, along with a 2-0 sweep of G2 Esports.

MOUZ’s quarter-final against M80 could be a close contest between two in-form teams wanting to make a deep run in London.

G2 Esports

The sixth and final team to secure its place in the BLAST Open London playoffs is G2 Esports, which managed to defeat Team Liquid and FlyQuest en route to the lower bracket final, where Team Spirit awaited.

An overtime win on Dust II levelled the series at one map apiece to force a decider on Ancient. To the surprise of many, G2 Esports dominated from the outset, winning the map 13-1 to advance to the playoffs.
