The first-ever League of Legends Game Changers Rising (LGC) event has officially confirmed its eight participating teams.

Riot Games’ women’s EMEA League of Legends tournament is part of the company’s expansion of its Game Changers project, which garnered much acclaim in VALORANT.

The group stage will take place between September 13th and September 28th, with playoffs starting on October 13th. The event will culminate at the Paris Games Week, live on October 30th, where the EMEA Masters Summer Finals will also be held.

League of Legends Game Changers Rising 2025 Competitors

The qualification process for League of Legends Game Changers Rising was split into three stages. In the first phase, Riot Games chose three squads affiliated with the LEC organisations: G2 Hel, SK Avarosa, and Vitality Rising Bees.

All three squads have shown constant involvement and efforts in building momentum for the female scene over the past years, with G2 Hel even competing in the European tier-two scene earlier this year.

In addition to these three squads, LGC features the top three squads from the Equal Esports Cup.

Considering G2 Hel’s direct invitation, the selected teams are Solary Academy, Nexus Reapers and Galions Pearl. The last two teams, on the other hand, were determined through an Open Qualifier, which saw Eterna and Zerance Bloom come out on top of 66 participating teams.

Which are the Must-Watch LGC Teams?

Among the participating squads in the League of Legends Game Changers Rising, the top contenders are G2 Hel and Solary Academy. The two were the strongest performers at the Equal Esports Cup, and most players are known faces in the competitive scene.

Other potential contenders are Vitality Rising Bees and Nexus Reapers, also featuring veteran players with strong track records in previous seasons.

Similar to VCT Game Changers rules, participation in LGC Rising is only open to players who identify as women to provide a ‘safe, respectful and competitive’ space where women can thrive. Riot also stated that they will be taking a steady approach to the first edition, emphasising that this is a ‘pilot’ event, but one designed to grow with the scene over time.
