Mobile platform game CookieRun OvenBreak is set to host its first-ever esports world championship later this month.

The game’s developer, Devsisters, revealed more details surrounding the 2025 World Championships through its recently released esports website.

Set to commence September 20th with regional preliminaries, this isn’t the first time the mobile game has hosted esports events. Other competitions include the 2024 CookieRun Tournament and 2025 CookieRun Global Invitational.

Format and Maps

Players qualified through the two Grand Champions Leagues, the Candlelight and Lime Seasons, by securing a place in the top eight on the Rank Points leader board.

Participating players will start in the Quarterfinals and be split into four divisions called the Regional Preliminaries. This includes Glacier, Ocean, Plains, and Desert, with eight competitors each in a round robin format.

The top two teams from each group will then play in the Semi-Finals, with the two victors facing off to decide the winner of the Regional Preliminaries.

The regional winners will then play offline in the World Championship. This event will take place in Seoul, South Korea, and will follow the same format to determine the best player in the world.

There will be eight maps in play throughout the 2025 World Championship:

  • Beneath the Lilies
  • Terrifying Bear Jelly Forest
  • One Future of TBD
  • Boiling Stock Village
  • Moonlit Bamboo Grove
  • Temple of the Sun Central Arena
  • Torch-lit Trial
