Magic Chess: Go Go, an autobattler created by MLBB developer MOONTON, has revealed major details on how to qualify for its first international esports tournament.
Similar to MLBB’s Rising Open, Magic Chess has launched the MCGG Rising Stars (MRS), an in-game feature where players can compete, rise through the ranks and become the game’s first international champion.
The MRS will serve as an open qualifier for the international tournament and will run for six weekends (Friday to Sunday) from September 12th to October 19th. The qualifier has also been split into seven divisions: Asia, EECA (Eastern Europe and Central Asia), Europe, Indonesia, Latin America, Malaysia and the Philippines.
In each division, players will need to compete in the MRS and climb through six stages. Registration isn’t required, and players simply need to open the game to compete during the MRS dates.
Each of these stages will also reward players with exclusive titles. MOONTON has said that players will also have a chance to receive a special skin.
The in-game qualifiers were first teased during the game’s season three update, which also made big changes to MCGG’s meta.
“MRS reflects our vision to build a competitive and engaging ecosystem where strategy and fun go hand in hand,” said Gao “Skyhook” Chong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games.
“The game was designed to be democratic with low barriers to entry, and the launch of MRS brings this vision to life.”
MRS Schedule
The schedule for the in-game Open Qualifiers as part of the MRS is as follows:
- Start Ground: Fresh Star (September 12th to 14th)
- Community Clash: Community Star (September 19th to 21st)
- Urban League: Urban Star (September 26th to 28th)
- Subregional Contest: Subregional Star (October 3rd to 5th)
- Regional Contest: Regional Star (October 10th to 12th)
- Rising Stars Trials: Rising Star (October 17th to 19th)
The top Rising Stars will face off in the Division Finals, the details for which haven’t been announced yet. From here, the best-of-the-best will qualify for the inaugural MCGG international tournament.
MCGG’s Indonesian Community Tournament Surpasses One Million Views
The launch of the first MCGG international esports tournament follows regional competitions in Indonesia, which is one of the most popular regions for MLBB.
With MCGG set in the same universe, with many of the same characters featured, the region provided a great launchpad for the title.
MOONTON said in a release that the third edition of the community tournament in Indonesia, which concluded on July 13th, amassed more than 1m views across channels.
