Riot Games has launched the League of Legends Asia Invitational 2025, a new tournament in October that will feature teams from the LPL, LCK and LCP.

Set to take place from October 6th to 12th, 2025, the event will include teams that failed to qualify for the League of Legends World Championship in China.

According to an announcement made on Weibo, the inaugural edition of the Asia Invitational will happen the week before the opening matches of the World Championship. Two days following the Asia Invitational Grand Final, the Play-In phase of Worlds 2025 begins.

The event, hosted by Huya, Douyu, and Bilibili, is set to feature eight teams from the three Asian leagues competing for a share of its CNY 1.5m (~£154,523) prize pool. Notably, the event will take place online instead of in a LAN setting.

The Asia Invitational is split into a Group Stage followed by a Knockout Stage. Starting on October 6th, the Group Stage features a best-of-three single round-robin format, with the top two from each group advancing to the next stage.

From October 10th to 12th, a double-elimination bracket, rounded off with a best-of-five final, will determine the eventual champion.

League of Legends Asia Invitational 2025 Teams

Featuring the best Asian teams that narrowly missed out on a place at Worlds, the Asia Invitational features several notable teams competing.

The fifth, sixth, and seventh-placed teams from the LCK and LPL, along with the fourth and fifth-placed teams from the LCP, will compete at the Asia Invitational.

Following elimination from the LCK playoffs, Nongshim RedForce will be one of the league’s representatives at the tournament. Depending on other playoff results, either Dplus KIA, BNK FearX, or T1 will join the lineup.

The LPL has already revealed Ninjas in Pyjamas and EDward Gaming will be in attendance. From the LCP, GAM Esports and MGN Vikings Esports will be representing the region.
