EA Sports has revealed the first Team of the Week (TOTW) for its EA Sports FC 26 Ultimate Team game mode.
The weekly in-game promotion introduces player cards with enhanced stats based on the real-world performances of football players across the world.
The first TOTW coincides with the early access launch of EA FC 26, available to EA Play subscribers and players who preordered the title’s Ultimate Edition.
Players can obtain TOTW players by opening Ultimate Team packs, along with purchasing them using in-game coins from the Ultimate Team player market.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland headlines the first TOTW after scoring twice against Manchester United, alongside Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane, who bagged two goals and an assist against Hamburg SV in the Bundesliga.
Due to the rarity of Haaland’s TOTW Ultimate Team card, it has become one of the title’s rarest items. Currently valued at 1.9m Ultimate Team coins, it’s also one of the most expensive on the EA FC market right now.
Why Does TOTW Matter for EA FC Esports?
The launch of TOTW every week adds enhanced items that have the potential to influence EA FC’s competitive meta.
With a wide range of players to select from when creating a team, the arrival of upgraded players can spark major shifts in items used in esports tournaments.
EA FC 26’s first wave of TOTW players will also be available for players looking to compete in the FC Pro Open Ladder. Registrations for the tournament starting on September 22nd will open on September 19th.
The Open Ladder is open to all players who reach Division 4 in Ultimate Team’s Rivals mode and is the first step towards the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier taking place at DreamHack Atlanta in October.
