Fortnitemares 2025: All rumours, leaks, and what we know so far

The annual Fortnitemares event in Fortnite is shaping up to be one of the biggest so far if the leaks and rumours surrounding it turn out to be true. With more than 30 skins rumoured to be released for the event and several crossovers with huge pop culture properties, the leaks are stirring up a lot of excitement within the Fortnite community. 

We’re going to take a deeper look at the Fortnitemares leaks to see what could potentially be dropping in the game to celebrate the Halloween season. 

At the time of writing (September 30, 2025), there is no official release date for Fortnitemares 2025. However, it is expected to drop on October 2. This comes from an official countdown that has begun for the new Demon Rush mode, which is thought to be a K-Pop Demon Hunters-themed Horde Rush Remix. Demon Rush will likely be the first part of the Fortnitemares 2025 event, so October 2 is a safe bet for the start date. However, as mentioned, there is no official release date for the event. If the event doesn’t officially begin when Demon Rush drops, it will likely start soon after. 

Despite featuring new modes and cosmetics every year, each Fortnitemares event has pretty similar patterns. Let’s look at what we can expect to see in this year’s Fortnitemares.

New cosmetics are guaranteed with every event, and Fortnitemares 2025 is no exception. According to Fortnite leaker HYPEX on X, more than 27 skins will be coming to the game with the event. A good portion of these skins are rumoured to be collaborations with pop culture properties. However, there are also sure to be returning skins and skins for original Fortnite characters, too. 

There is already confirmation that there will be a limited-time game mode with the K-Pop Demon Hunters-themed Demon Rush. This mode will likely include limited-time items, too. While it hasn’t been confirmed what these items are, there is a good chance that they too will be K-Pop Demon Hunter themed, such as Rumi’s geom, Mira’s gok-do and Zoey’s shin kal (the weapons that the characters wield when fighting demons). Previous Halloween-themed weapons could also make a comeback, such as the Pumpkin Launcher. 

New maps and changes to existing maps are also sure to be included with the event. Seeing as Fortnitemares is Halloween-themed, maps with Halloween themes, decorations and POI’s are certain. Map-wide effects, such as creeping fog, could also be a possibility. Interactive elements are also common with Fortnite maps, and there are plenty of possibilities when it comes to spooky interactivity. 

Quests related to events that offer rewards and additional XP for the battle pass are also likely. This is a great way to get players engaged with an event, and it is a common occurrence with Fortnite events. There is a lot of potential for Halloween-themed challenges, especially if Fortnitemares is due to last as long as the leaks say. These quests are likely to be implemented in phases throughout the Halloween event, as this is how most Fortnite event quests work.  

There have been plenty of leaks regarding the upcoming Fortnitemares event. Most of these leaks come from the aforementioned HYPEX on X, as well as Shiina, SpushFNBR, and FNBRintel, all of whom are relatively reliable Fortnite leakers. 

According to the above post by HYPEX, Fortnitemares will be a significant event that runs all through October. In the post, HYPEX states that the event will consist of two major updates, with one occurring on October 2 and another on October 9. The update on October 2 is already pretty much confirmed with the Demon Rush limited-time game mode countdown. 

In addition, HYPEX alleges that there will be more than 10 collaborations during the event, with over 30 skins released. The post also states that the skin drops will be daily. Other features mentioned in the post include Fortnite OG Season 6 (which is already expected), new battle royale content and season 11 of Fortnite Festival.

We are currently only a few days away from the Demon Rush mode drop, so we might get more of an idea as to what Fortnitemares will officially bring to the table when that happens.
