Kim “Fury” Jun-ho may have unofficially retired three years ago, but he is still regarded as one of the greatest Overwatch players of all time.

The South Korean esports superstar even received two Guinness World Records for his achievements in the game.

In our analysis, we chart his gaming career and estimate his net worth based on his prize winnings and other sources of income.

Kim Jun-ho, better known as “Fury”, was born in South Korea on November 25, 1999. This would make him 25 years old at the time of writing in October 2025.

His successful six-year career saw him play Overwatch for several top esports teams, including London Spitfire and Washington Justice.

However, he has been inactive since November 2022, and very little is known about his life since then, or whether he’s still involved in gaming.

The bulk of Fury’s net worth is likely to be the prize pools he won during his esports career playing Overwatch and Overwatch 2.

Fury made $265,835 from playing 17 tournaments of these games between 2017 and 2022, according to Esports Earnings.

However, we estimate his total net worth could be around $300,000 once you factor in salaries and other revenue streams.

Several income sources are believed to contribute to Fury’s net worth, which we have estimated to be around $400,000.

Most of his money has been made from Overwatch tournament prize winnings, which started modestly but then soared as he became more successful.

His prize money ranged from a comparatively modest $2,106.07 in 2017 to a remarkable $162,567.09 the following year, according to Esports Earnings.

The next biggest source of income would be salaries earned during his time playing Overwatch for various recognised outfits.

When Blizzard established the Overwatch League, the minimum annual salary for players was $50,000, with teams having to provide health insurance and a retirement savings plan. 

It also declared that 50% of team performance bonuses, such as proceeds from playoffs, would be distributed to the players.

We have attributed approximately $35,000 from Fury’s career salary to his overall net worth figure, which boosts the estimated total to $300,000.

Fury is known to have streamed on Twitch, although he hasn’t been active on the platform for the past couple of years. The site states he has 16,800 followers and streams VALORANT.

The amount earned will depend on factors such as the number of subscribers, the amount they’re paying, and any arrangement he may have had with the platform.

No documented information is available that outlines any business interests for Fury or any key investments that he’s made. He may have used some of the wealth generated from his esports career to fund a move into different areas, but nothing has been publicly documented.

Fury’s early life isn’t documented, and there is nothing from reliable sources detailing his family or formative years. However, he has spoken about the challenges of coming to Los Angeles in June 2017 as part of the now-defunct Team Liquid Overwatch squad.

In an interview with ESPN, he recalled that at the time, he knew very little English, didn’t have an interpreter, and was the only South Korean on the team.

“The best thing I got out of that experience was mastering ride-share applications,” he said. “Everyone else was scrambling around and they didn’t know how to call Ubers or Lyfts, but I knew how from the get-go, so it made it a lot easier when (London Spitfire) first came to America.”

Young Fury was subsequently able to teach these skills to his fellow South Koreans when he joined the London Spitfire roster in 2017.

Some of Fury’s earliest steps into competitive esports were taken with the now-defunct South Korea-based Rhinos Gaming Wings (known as RG Wings) in 2016, according to Liquipedia.

The teenager then played for Team Liquid during the summer of 2017 before joining London Spitfire towards the end of the year. This was his most financially successful period.

He earned $162,567.09 in 2018 from four tournaments. The most lucrative was the $142,857.14 he received for first place in the Overwatch League Season 1 Playoffs.

In 2019, he took home $25,000 from two tournaments with London Spitfire before becoming part of Philadelphia Fusion for 2020.

He played for Washington Justice in 2021, before it was announced that he would be leaving to be closer to his family in Korea.

He wrote: “I was so happy to be able to play for the Washington Justice for a year. Thank you so much to the staff who supported us so that we could focus on the game. I’m so proud that I was able to be with good teammates!!”

It was subsequently announced in early 2022 that Fury would be returning to the Philadelphia Fusion, which would then rebrand as the Seoul Infernal.

While it’s understood that no official announcement was made, Fury hasn’t played since late 2022, meaning he is now regarded as being inactive or retired.

Fury also made it into the Guinness World Records for his achievements during the Overwatch League Grand Finals on July 28, 2018. The event was held in Brooklyn, New York, USA.

The first entry was for eliminating 189 opposition players as his London Spitfire team overcame the Philadelphia Fusion to be crowned champions.

Fury’s second entry, which came at the same event, was for emerging from the battle with the fewest deaths (23) against his name.

According to Liquipedia, Fury was also the first player to have killed someone in an Overwatch League match with Torbjörn’s Hammer.

Very little is known about Fury or how he spends his money, as he doesn’t appear to be active on social media.

The Instagram account, which is understood to belong to Fury, contains one post dating back to early December 2022. It has 4,277 followers.

Meanwhile, his X.com account, which has 17,700 followers, has been inactive since November 2022. He doesn’t appear to have an official website or Facebook profile.

While it’s not known whether Fury supports particular charities, the Overwatch League and Washington Justice, one of his previous teams, have made donations.

In the summer of 2021, it was announced that both of them, as well as the Houston Outlaws team, would give money to organisations addressing and preventing sexual violence.

The two teams joined forces in an “Outlaws for Justice” campaign, which saw them make donations to RAINN, a hotline that provides confidential help and support.

Fury may have been one of the most successful Overwatch players in the history of the game, but his net worth leaves him trailing other esports superstars.

According to Esports Earnings, he is currently ranked number 1,281 on the overall list of highest earners and 143rd among players from South Korea. 

The biggest winners in competitive esports, who largely made their money from playing Dota 2, include Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, who leads the way with $7.18 million in career earnings.

Meanwhile, Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka, Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov, and Anathan “Ana” Pham have all won more than $6 million from esports.
