Marvel Rivals creator competition CouRage Clash has crowned its champions after a series of high-octane matchups.
Organised by streamer Jack ‘CouRageJD‘ Dunlop, the tournament awarded the winning squad —featuring Vladan ‘Necros‘ Konstantinov and James ‘Clayster‘ Eubanks, among others — a lion’s share of its $100,000 (~£73,500) prize pool.
“Congratulations to the winners of the first-ever $100,000 CouRage Clash,” CouRageJD shared. “So thrilled with how it went. Fun games, fantastic production, and flawless from start to finish.”
This is the full winning squad of the CouRage Clash Marvel Rivals event:
- Vladan ‘Necros‘ Konstantinov
- James ‘Clayster‘ Eubanks
- Nelson ‘Grizzy‘
- ‘Bonsai-Travis’
- Kalei Renay
- Chris ‘Bigpuffer
24 players, split amongst four teams, competed to secure as many wins as possible across various rounds to improve their standings. Afterwards, the top two teams would then qualify for the Grand Finals.
The final match was streamed live through CouRageJD’s Twitch channel, as Necros’ team faced off against a squad comprised of Ali ‘SypherPK‘ Hassan, Richard ‘Ricky‘ Stacy and other notable streamers.
Here is the full breakdown of how Necros’ team (Team1) faired against SypherPK’s (Team2) roster in the Grand Finals:
- Game one: Team1 3:4 Team2 – Symbiotic Surface, Convergence.
- Game two: Team1 2:0 Team2 – Krakoa, Domination.
- Game three: Team1 3:0 Team2 – Spider-Islands, Convoy.
- Final Score: Team1 2:1 Team2
The match was cast by Marvel Rivals Ignite commentator and creator, Cozy, and CouRageJD himself, who took up the mic six years after his last official casting role.
Past Marvel Rivals Tournaments by Content Creators
From Marvel Rivals’ official launch last December, various content creators and streamers have held their own competitions in partnership with the game’s developer, Netease Games.
Siarhei ‘bogur‘ Alekau, who also competed in Ignite Stage 1 EMEA with Schmungus, hosted the Bogur Bash event. It saw 48 professional players from the esports scene compete in mixed teams for the lion’s share of a $100,000 prize pool.
Before Ignite Stage 1 began, popular streamer and former esports pro Michael ‘Shroud‘ Grzesiek held The Shroud Gauntlet, which was won by the Ignite Mid Season Finals runners-up, ENVY.
Earlier this year, one of the most popular Twitch and Kick streamers Felix ‘xQc’ Lenyel ran the xQc Invitational with NetEase, which boasted the highest prize pool of any creator-organised tournament in Marvel Rivals with a $250,000 (~£194,000) pot.
However, one of the first creator events ever held was hosted by esports team owner, Jeremy ‘Disguised Toast’ Wang, through the Creator Cup. Following the success of the inaugural event, a 2.0 edition was streamed in March with a $60,000 (~£46,311) prize pool.
