Riot Games has released its latest patch notes for its 2v2 fighting game, 2XKO, following the launch of Early Access and Season 0.
The post details everything coming with patches 1.0.1 and 1.0.1.1, including new champions, balance changes, new stages, and more.
2XKO Patch 1.0.1
These are all the changes that came with Patch 1.0.1, which went live on October 7th, 2025 at 8:00 AM PT.
New Champions
The post details the two new champions coming to the active roster. This includes the Yordle, Teemo, and the recently revealed eleventh champion, Warwick, who featured in 2XKO’s cinematic trailer. Warwick boasts a unique resource called Bloodlust, gaining unique specials and cancel options when the gauge is full.
Riot Games also shared that new champions will be added with every season. They can be unlocked through a 1,000 KO Point purchase in the store, redeemed for one Champion Token, or by purchasing the Ultra Battle Pass bundle.
New characters can also be unlocked for free through Recruitment Events in exchange for Battle Pass XP. However, Season 0 will not feature a Recruitment Event.
New Features
Season 0 will also bring in a series of new features to the League of Legends spin-off FGC title. Players can kickstart their 2XKO journey with the First Step missions, which grant in-game rewards for learning the basics.
Combo Trials allows players to practice combos for each champion, with over 250 combos to choose from. Additionally, the Training mode will include a new frame data bar for further study.
Two new stages will be added to the game, themed after different regions of Runeterra. Season 0 brings Bandlewood Crossing, purchased through Stages section, and Firelight Run, a paid reward on the Battle Pass.
Players who previously participated in the Closed Beta will receive exclusive ‘Closed Beta Boss’ title.
2XKO Patch 1.0.1.1
2XKO’s official ranked mode launches with the release of Patch 1.0.1.1 on October 9th, 2025. Queue times will be increased compared to the Closed Beta to allow for more balanced matches, and as a result, reaching the Challenger rank will prove more difficult.
Various gameplay changes will also be implemented with the launch of Early Access
- Actions can be taken mid-air after blocking
- Frame adjustments have been made to moves such as opponent recovery from a Break
- Input changes have been made to Retreating Guard.
- Assist cooldowns start much sooner after champions leave the screen
- Various bug fixes.
Patch 1.0.1.1 will also bring in a second wave of changes on October 9th, making Break less advantageous, reducing Meter gain, and stopping Handshake Tag from preventing gray health accumulation. More details can be found on Riot Game’s official web page.
Other core moves in the game, such as 2X assists, Double Down, Juggernaut, and Sidekick, will also be nerfed in Season 0.
Champion Balance Adjustments
With the launch of Early Access, 2XKO has 11 playable champions to choose from with unique playstyles and move sets. Riot Games has shared buffs, nerfs, and adjustments coming to the roster, with another set of changes coming on October 9th.
Ekko, Jinx, and Yasuo will be nerfed, while Ahri, Braum, Darius and Vi will be buffed. Blitzcrank and Illaoi will also see adjustments to how some of their moves behave, alongside several bug fixes.
New Cosmetics
2XKO will open its in-game store for the first time during Early Access, allowing players to make purchases on Battle Passes and skin bundles.
The Battle Pass will come with a free and premium track, with the latter offering Standard, Deluxe and Ultra options. Rewards in the pass can be unlocked through earning XP, which can be accumulated through completing in-game missions.
Players can also choose one of three Starter Edition packs, including Standard, Deluxe and Ultra. Standard includes four Champion Tokens, 2,000 KO Points and a player car; Deluxe offers an Arcane finisher, eight tokens, three sets of avatar clothing, and even more KO Points; Ultra includes three Arcane skins alongside chromas, an Arcane sticker set, and additional KO Points.
Various skin bundles will also be available to earn throughout Season:
- Crime City Mega Bundle (November 4th) – Jinx, Darius, and Braum.
- Aureate Mega Bundle (December 2nd) – Warwick, Vi, and Darius.
- Snow Moon Mega Bundle (December 23rd) – Ahri, Warwick, and Illaoi.
Skins can also be purchased individually, but buying Mega Bundles will also net players with additional content.
