Tournament organiser BLAST Premier has shared changes it plans to implement for the benefit of Counter-Strike 2 athletes for the 2026 season.
After acknowledging that 2025 has been ‘less than ideal’ for teams competing in BLAST’s circuit, it has promised several quality-of-life improvements to its competitive experience.
In the blog post, BLAST stated: “We’re aware that 2025 has been a less-than-ideal year for teams participating in the BLAST circuit and know we’ve missed the mark on several key areas of team servicing.
“We’re committed to improving our offering for teams and increasing the visibility of changes to the BLAST circuit as we close out the year and look ahead to 2026.”
BLAST Changes for 2026 Onwards
In the post, BLAST lists off eight key changes and improvements it aims to make for its competitive scene come the 2026 season.
Firstly, BLAST aims to improve its hospitality. It is increasing its accommodation offers, giving each team two additional reserved hotel rooms that can be purchased. According to BLAST, this will allow for more staff to travel with athletes. Furthermore, teams will move towards voucher-based catering, and BLAST will provide local research on catering options and delivery app accessibility.
The tournament organiser also promises on-site improvements. Player lounges are making a return for big arena events, allowing esports athletes to rest between matches. BLAST will bring new printing equipment for team staff to allow for more streamlined match-day planning. Additionally, BLAST will be increasing the PLAYMA headcount to improve team experiences.
Transport will also see an upgrade, as BLAST details a ‘comprehensive shuttle service review’ to improve the efficiency of team arrivals and departures.
Finally, BLAST shared specific changes that will be made to its Malta studio, including bringing permanent local staff to improve on-site amenities. This also includes reviewing studio accommodation options for teams following feedback from BLAST Bounty Season 2.
