  • Accessories in Marvel Rivals are equippable cosmetics with on-screen animations.
  • Accessories are not universal and can only be equipped to the corresponding hero.
  • Players can unlock accessories by earning Accessory Points in games. They don’t have to be purchased with real money.

  • Heroes with accessories include Luna Snow, Spider-Man and Emma Frost.

Accessories in Marvel Rivals are a fun, cosmetic way to express yourself, but not every hero in the game has a corresponding accessory. The ones that are currently available are well-designed trinkets that have a little bit of interactivity to them. The best part about accessories is that you don’t have to use real money to buy them. Seeing as most live service games in this day and age will try to use absolutely everything and anything as an excuse to cash in, this is particularly refreshing.

Let’s dive into everything you need to know about accessories in Marvel Rivals, including how to obtain them and which heroes currently have equippable accessories.

What are Marvel Rivals accessories?

As mentioned, accessories are cosmetics in Marvel Rivals. Once they have been purchased, players can equip them to the corresponding hero as a charm of sorts. These are not universal cosmetics, as each accessory is assigned to a particular hero.

Accessories are surprisingly technical, as they can integrate with any skins for the hero the charm is designed for. This means that no matter how complicated a skin might be, the accessory will still be attached and visible. This might not seem significant, but it’s an impressive technical feat that shows that care and thought have been put into these virtual trinkets.

Accessories also have visual effects that appear on the screen when they are equipped. A small animated version of the charm is noticeable on the right side of the screen when the hero has it equipped. Whenever the player gets a kill or an assist, the character on screen will celebrate with a small animation. The animations and the accessory character are noticeable, but not too distracting. They make for a quirky addition to the screen without hindering gameplay.

Accessories in Marvel Rivals can be purchased with Accessory Points, also known as AP. As mentioned, you do not have to spend real money on these to obtain them. Instead, Accessory Points can be earned by completing games, and they can be earned in the following game modes:

  • Quick Match
  • Competitive
  • Arcade Games
  • Practice Vs. AI

At the time of writing, players can only earn 700 Accessory Points a week, as this is what the current weekly cap is. The first 200 AP earned comes with a bonus, allowing early AP progress to speed up a bit. Accessories currently cost 1,350 Accessory Points, so it would take two weeks of earning the maximum amount of points to purchase one accessory. Accumulated AP will remain in your account, so you don’t have to worry about losing them if you don’t spend them right away.

Once you have purchased your accessory, you can immediately equip it to the hero. Each hero has their accessory in a different position on their body, but this can change depending on the skin they are wearing. As seen in the image above, Luna Snow’s is on her back when she is wearing the Abyssal Flame skin. However, the White Fox accessory is on her hip when she is wearing her default. Some heroes wear their accessories on their wrist, while others have them in more unique places, such as Magneto, whose accessory hovers inside the metallic rings on his back. When playing as a hero with an accessory equipped, the aforementioned animations will appear on-screen above the KO Prompt when you get a KO or an assist.

At the time of writing, there are 12 accessories available for 12 heroes. As of right now, Cloak and Dagger’s accessory is disabled and cannot be purchased due to technical issues. Accessory In-game description (message from Galacta) Corresponding Hero
Alpine the Cat Plush Every time Bucky goes off to battle, he can’t help but worry about the little one back home: Is it doing okay? Can it eat enough on its own? Don’t worry, Alpine, Daddy will be home after this mission. He doesn’t need this gift to remember you, but I know he’ll like it. Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes)
Cloak & Dagger Plush Tandy and Tyrone are inseparable, even at the edge of the universe. In a cosmos full of uncertainty, there’s nothing more powerful than their bond. I hope this brings a little of that light (and shadow!) to your journey. Cloak & Dagger (Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen)
Deadpool Plush Little Jeffie will never forget that guy in the red tights, he’s one of Jeff’s best buddies in any timeline. He’s not my favourite, but as long as it makes Jeff happy! Who can say no to that toothy smile? Jeff The Land Shark
Groot Plush Whenever Rocket sees this little guy, he’ll be reminded of the good old days. Back when the Guardians of the Galaxy were just getting started, he took special care of Groot, and thanks to that, Groot became the hero he is today! Some roots run deep across the stars! Rocket Raccoon
H.E.R.B.I.E. Plush Susan has been missing H.E.R.B.I.E. after saving New York, and I guess Reed has been a bit busy, so I cooked up a little something to keep her from feeling homesick! I hope she likes it. Invisible Woman (Susan Storm)
Jeff The Land Shark Handbag Emma’s been getting her manicured hands a bit messy lately, so I know she’s been in need of a shopping spree. I just know she’s going to adore this Jeff handbag! Diamonds may be forever, but so is our love of this little guy. Emma Frost
MJ Plush As long as Peter comes home safe, Mary Jane doesn’t mind how late he is. And no matter which universe he’s in, he’ll always think of her. He really did hit the jackpot, huh? Spider-Man (Peter Parker)
Orochi the Yokai Plush Sai has been fighting for so long, I thought she might like something to remind her of one of her greatest victories. Rivalry is something to be celebrated, you know? Psylocke (Sai)
Polaris Plush Max always worries he wasn’t the perfect dad, but I know how much he cares for his kids. He might have missed Lorna’s childhood, but he’ll always be there to protect her future. That’s the kind of love that even a cosmic entity like me can appreciate! Magneto (Max Eisenhardt/ Erik Lehnsherr)
Quicksilver Plush Even if the whole world turns against Wanda, Pietro will always be there for his sister. He might not be as powerful as she is, but when it comes to family, he’ll race across stars and dimensions just to bring her back home. That’s what I call true speed! Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff)
Rocket Raccoon Plush  As the best friends of the galaxy, Groot always wants Rocket by his side. Even though he can only express himself by saying, “I am Groot.” But I understand him, so I’ve got just what he needs! Groot
Ami the White Fox Plush Luna Snow’s always thinking about her Atlas friends, especially Ami. She wonders if people really understand that Ami’s cool exterior hides a warm heart. Here’s hoping this Kumiho helps everyone see just how special she is, inside and out! Luna Snow (Seol Hee)

That’s everything you need to know about accessories in Marvel Rivals. If there isn’t currently an accessory available for your favourite hero, don’t fret, as there are sure to be plenty more accessories coming for more heroes in the future. We’ll be sure to keep you updated when this list expands.
