Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov has the potential to become the world’s highest-earning esports star over the next few years.

The talented 27-year-old currently holds the number three spot, boasting a net worth of $6.2 million from playing Dota 2.

And Team Spirit’s captain is fast catching up with the two names ahead of him, Johan “N0tail” Sundstein and Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka, who have both retired from active competition. 

In our analysis, we chart Miposhka’s gaming career and estimate his net worth based on his prize winnings and other sources of income.

Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov was born in Russia on November 30, 1997. This makes him 27 years old at the time of writing in October 2025.

He is one of the world’s most successful Dota 2 players, having amassed prize winnings of $6.2 million since 2015.

Miposhka is currently the captain of Team Spirit, a Russian esports organisation headquartered in Belgrade, Serbia, which he joined in late 2020.

We have based our estimate of Miposhka’s net worth on the $6.23 million he has made from Dota 2 tournaments over the past decade.

This total already puts him among the top three all-time earners from competitive esports, while his earnings are likely to rise further as he remains active.

The bulk of Miposhka’s income is believed to have come from the prize money earned by playing Dota 2 tournaments since 2015.

He has made $6.23 million playing 123 tournaments over the past decade, according to Esports Earnings.

His most lucrative year was 2021, when he earned almost $3.7 million from 11 events. This accounts for approximately 60% of his total career earnings.

However, Miposhka is also likely to receive a handsome salary as captain of Team Spirit, the Russian esports organisation he joined five years ago. Although figures aren’t publicly available, a report from the Influencer Marketing Hub suggests that top esports players can earn up to $187,200 per year.

It’s also likely that he has earned money from streaming on Twitch, where he has 71,200 followers. However, he hasn’t streamed since last year.

Miposhka doesn’t appear to have any personal sponsorships, but Team Spirit has had agreements with several companies.

Depending on the terms of his contract, it is possible that he and other team members may benefit from these arrangements in some way. However, this hasn’t been confirmed.

According to the official Team Spirit website, there are currently seven partners, including trading platforms and various esports brands. A long-term arrangement was announced with BetBoom, a betting company, in April 2024. Other partners include the streaming platform Okko, EXMO, a cryptocurrency exchange and trading platform, esports gear brand Zowie, accessories provider Blacklyte, case opening site CSGO.net, and energy drink giant Red Bull.

It’s unknown whether Miposhka is involved in any business ventures or has any other investments, as no information is publicly available.

Little has been made public about Miposhka’s early life. However, it’s known that he was born in Russia on November 30, 1997.

As a two-year-old, he’d already mastered the Dendy console and the computer, according to Miposhka’s mother, Elena Vladimirovna, in an English translation of her interview for Esports.ru.

She recalled he initially played children’s educational games and racing games, before switching to more serious ones after reaching school age. These included Pandora’s Box and Heroes of Might and Magic. 

“I was relatively calm about his attachment to gaming, because through computer games one could motivate him to learn something else: to learn to read, to count, to write, and also to do well in school,” said Vladimirovna.

According to Liquipedia, he began his Dota career with Yellow Submarine in 2015. This was a Russian team initially formed to compete in The International 2015 European Open Qualifiers.

He then joined Team Empire in 2016, where he earned $210,188 from competing in 37 tournaments up until late November 2018. This accounts for just over 3% of his career earnings.

In an interview, Miposhka revealed that he was studying to be a programmer before being invited to join the team. He went on to say that the team sometimes went to the cinema together and played football, although time was limited.

“Aside from paying pubs, which all of us do a lot, we play an average of six scrims per day,” he said. “Days off do exist, of course.”

It’s been a decade since Miposhka started his competitive esports career, and he’s taken home prize money every year.

After playing for Yellow Submarine and Team Empire, he spent time with Team Singularity and HellRaisers, as well as making some appearances as an independent player.

In late December 2020, however, he became part of Team Spirit, and it’s in this period of his career that he’s enjoyed the most success.

It has certainly been the most financially successful, with Miposhka having earned $5.98 million from 57 tournaments, as of early October 2025.

In July 2025, Miposhka captained Team Spirit to victory in the Dota 2 segment of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The victory earned them $1 million.

The team’s remarkable run saw them drop just one game, which happened to be the opening battle against Xtreme Gaming, which ended in a 1-1 draw in the group stage.

They then went unbeaten, not dropping a single map in the remaining five matches, including a 3-0 victory against Team Falcons in the Grand Final.

Miposhka said after the win: “I enjoyed (playing) in this tournament, every player in my team is the best of the best. There were a lot of fans here also, thank you everyone so much for your support.” 

Miposhka has twice won The International, regarded as the world’s most prestigious Dota 2 tournament, both as part of Team Spirit.

The first time was in 2021, and this was his most lucrative career victory as he walked away with a cool $3.64 million. He also tasted victory in 2023, along with prize winnings of $304,272.

What made Team Spirit’s 2021 win even more remarkable was the fact that they almost didn’t qualify at all, having failed to collect enough Dota Pro Circuit points to earn a place at the event.

In an interview with Red Bull, Miposhka admitted that the team wasn’t used to the publicity that came with winning such a high-profile tournament.

He said: “I mean, we’ve been playing Dota 2 for years, and nobody gave a hoot, and now all of a sudden, you’re getting invited to shows and getting interview requests from everywhere. It’s a good opportunity to show everyone who thinks that esports doesn’t matter that it’s a huge and very interesting industry. I want to believe that with this win, we’ve been able to attract a lot of new people who’ve joined our community. It’s really awesome.”

Miposhka isn’t very active on social media, so little is known about his private life or how he chooses to spend his money. 

His Instagram account is followed by 41,200 people, but it isn’t regularly updated. Prior to the latest post on July’s Esports World Cup win, he hadn’t shared anything since May 2024.

According to an English translation of a 2022 interview, Miposhka revealed he had bought the first of several planned apartments, as well as giving his girlfriend a tablet.

He was also quoted as saying: “I flew to the Maldives with my girlfriend — it was definitely worth it, I really liked it. Essentially, you wake up, open the curtain, and right there you have a pool, a hammock, sand, ocean, palm trees, sky, sunshine — pure bliss. The place we stayed was almost empty, plus the water was very warm, almost hot. After lounging by the pool, you walk into the ocean, and you can feel how warm it is.”

It’s not known whether Miposkha personally supports any charities. However, Team Spirit is known to have supported causes.

For example, it announced on X (formerly Twitter) that all prize money won at Gamers Galaxy: Invitational Series Dubai 2022 would be donated to the International Red Cross Movement.

Miposhka is the third-highest-earning esports star in the world and one of only four players to have made more than $6 million.

His $6.23 million prize pot is only bettered by the $7.2 million of Johan “N0tail” Sundstein and Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka’s $6.5 million.

Miposhka is also the highest earner from Russia, ahead of fellow Dota 2 player Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov, on $5.9 million.

Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov has amassed a multi-million-dollar fortune from playing Dota 2 and remains an active gamer. 

He is already the world’s third-highest-earning esports star and still has a chance of overhauling the two leading him, as they are no longer competing.

However, he’ll need to go on a remarkable winning streak to clinch the top spot, as Johan “N0tail” Sundstein is still $1 million ahead.
