Black Ops 7 tier list: Beta weapons breakdown

The Black Ops 7 beta was packed full of new guns and multiplayer maps. Each gun has its strengths and weaknesses, but a few stand-out options should be in your first loadout this November.

Our COD Black Ops 7 tier list will give you the breakdown on each weapon available for use during the BO7 beta. The guns in Black Ops 7 appear to be some of the best weapons added to Call of Duty in recent years, so let’s take a closer look at the new equipment in the latest Black Ops title.

Our Black Ops 7 weapons ranking identifies the competitive viability of every weapon released in the October beta. Throughout testing in both multiplayer and zombies, we used each weapon’s customisation, stats, and unique features to determine which guns are top-tier and which ones you shouldn’t add to your loadout.

We’ve explained each rank of our Black Ops 7 tier list and what they mean below.

S-Tier is exclusively home to the strongest weapons in Call of Duty Black Ops 7, and the beta showed us that a few guns truly shine above the rest. First off, the M8A1 is a marksman rifle that deals a three-burst shot, and it’s a great gun if you’re seeking to sneak around the map and headshot enemies.

The VS Recon is also a perfect choice for players who need a long-range gun in their loadout, as it’s a high-powered sniper rifle with a quick reload time. Shifting the focus to close-combat, the BO7 beta introduced the Dravec 45, an SMG with quick TTK and impressive range.

If you want to start out Black Ops 7 with the best weapons, then the three guns above should be your first stop while building a loadout.

For the close-combat competitor, consider equipping the M10 Breacher shotgun since it can immediately blast enemies away at short range, and the hip-fire feels comfortable. The Peacekeeper MK1 is a great starting point for beginners because it’s a fully automatic assault rifle that’s easy to handle, though it lacks range.

If you need an A-Tier gun with excellent range, then the XR-3 Ion is a sniper rifle that’s easy to use, plus it deals burst damage. Though A-Tier weapons in our Black Ops 7 tier list often have a disadvantage or two, they’re reliable guns that are useful for players of all skill levels.

B-Tier has the most weapons of any rank in our COD tier list. The M15 Mod 0 is an assault rifle that’ll feel familiar to Call of Duty fans, and though it’s strong and easy to handle, it’s not particularly notable. Moving on, the MK.78 was the only LMG in the beta, and while it had a large ammo magazine, it also had slower handling than the weapons in the ranks above.

The A.R.C. M1 launcher is the perfect weapon for countering scorestreaks, but it’s not as strong as guns like the M8A1. The Flatline MK.II is a melee weapon, so it is useful in close-quarters situations. Black Ops 7’s Ryden 45K is a submachine gun that’s equally powerful as it is accurate, whereas the Razor 9MM has a speedy fire rate, but its range is very limited.

The Echo 12 presents the player with a semi-automatic shotgun that deals high damage, while the MXR-17 is accurate but ordinary with decent range. The guns in B-Tier are fairly standard, but they’re an important part of the Black Ops 7 arsenal.

The CODA 9 is a fully automatic handgun that takes practice to wield effectively. If you can handle the recoil on the CODA 9, then you can use its high damage to swiftly defeat any enemy you encounter, even when your primary gun is out of ammo. The CODA 9 is a powerful sidearm in Black Ops 7, but it’s in C-Tier because it doesn’t hold up against weapons in B-Tier or above.

We only placed the Jäger 45 in D-Rank, as it’s one of the weakest guns in Black Ops 7. The Jäger 45 is a semi-automatic pistol. This handgun is a useful sidearm that fires shots quickly, but it doesn’t hold up to guns like the M8A1 or MK.78. As such, the Jäger 45 deserves a spot in D-Rank as of the beta in October.

The Black Ops 7 beta provided Call of Duty fans with an assortment of new weapons to try, and we determined that the M8A1, Dravec 45, and VS Recon are the most powerful of the bunch. Weapons in the beta were fairly balanced, which is why we ranked many of the guns in B-Tier.

The weapons in BO7 offer a perfect mix of close-combat and range, and there’s even more to come when the full game launches on November 14.
