Gentle Mates has announced its Counter-Strike 2 coach, Eloy ‘deLonge‘ Suárez, will miss the remainder of PGL Masters Bucharest 2025.

The French esports organisation says the Spanish coach won’t be in attendance due to personal reasons.

Announced on October 28th, 2025, Gentle Mates stated that it “hopes to have him back” supporting its CS2 players in upcoming events.

Notably, the organisation didn’t confirm whether assistant coach Angel ‘repk3ys‘ Navarro will take the place of deLonge for the remainder of PGL Masters Bucharest 2025, which concludes on November 1st.

“For personal reasons, our CS head coach will be unable to attend the remainder of PGL Masters Bucharest,” read a statement from Gentle Mates. “He has our full support, and we remain fully focused on the rest of the competition.”

Shortly after the announcement, Gentle Mates began its third-round match against Ninjas in Pyjamas. A win will see the team advance to the fourth round, while a defeat will result in elimination.

Currently ranked 23rd in October’s Valve Regional Standings (VRS), the team continues to establish itself as one of Europe’s notable rosters capable of competing against the world’s best.

Gentle Mates In 2025

Since expanding into Counter-Strike esports in August, Gentle Mates has quickly cemented itself as a team that can spring surprises in tier one tournaments.

Before competing at PGL Masters Bucharest 2025, the team was a last-minute addition to ESL Pro League Season 22, where it managed to earn a place in Stage 2 with notable wins over the likes of G2 Esports and Legacy.

Losing the support of a coach during an esports tournament is a difficult situation to negotiate in any title. Without deLonge supporting the Gentle Mates players, making it to the next stage of PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 is a tricky task for a team already on the verge of elimination.
