LCK third seed KT Rolster has advanced to the League of Legends World Championship 2025 semifinals following an emphatic 3-0 victory against CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO).

Not only has KT Rolster yet to drop a game at Worlds 2025, but this is the first time that the historic esports organisation has made it to a Worlds semifinal.

Today’s result also ends an impressive Worlds 2025 run by CFO, which became the first side from the Pacific region (LCP) to reach the playoffs since 2015.

A Statement Series From KT Rolster

In a completely opposite series to yesterday’s clash between Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports, KT Rolster looked dominant throughout the entire series.

The narrative entering the series was that fans wanted to assess how strong KT Rolster actually is at Worlds 2025. Despite finishing the Swiss Stage with a flawless 3-0 record, question marks were raised given its relatively easy draw, which also included a comeback victory against Movistar KOI

Whilst some of those doubts were lifted during KT’s BO3 clash with TOP Esports, today’s performance against CTBC Flying Oyster has cemented the side as a true contender.

Game one started off with a scrappy fight near the dragon pit three minutes into the series. Whilst CFO managed to secure the first blood, it was KT Rolster that walked away with two kills and an early advantage for Seo ‘deokdam’ Dae-gil on Ezreal.

The LCK side’s constant teamfight victories ensured that the mid-game went well and truly in the team’s favour, securing a 5,000 gold lead by the 18th minute.

Despite a valiant effort from CTBC Flying Oyster’s Chiu ‘Doggo’ Tzu-chuan, who earlier shut down deokdam, it was KT Rolster securing a 28-minute dragon soul and an ace that prevented any chance of a comeback.

After claiming the Baron, KT Rolster would ultimately walk away with a 32-minute 26-12 victory.

Whilst game one showed a glimmer of hope for LCP’s first seed, game two highlighted the power of KT Rolster and its star mid laner Gwak ‘Bdd’ Bo-sung. Finishing game two with a K/D/A of 6/0/15 on Orianna, the player’s first blood was a sign of things to come for CFO.

With CTBC Flying Oyster only able to secure its first kill of game two in the 16th minute, KT Rolster was able to secure a health objective and gold lead that helped the side make quick work of the match.

Generating a 10,000 gold lead and a kill lead of 21 to 4, KT Rolster rolled into CFO’s base to claim the nexus in under 25 minutes.

In what ended up being CTBC Flying Oyster’s final match of Worlds 2025, the team didn’t go down without a fight. In a tense early game, which saw the first kill only occur in the 8th minute, KT Rolster had a slight lead in terms of gold and started to gain momentum by picking off CFO’s members.

However, with a 5-1 lead and two dragons in KT Rolster’s pockets by the 11th minute, CTBC Flying Oyster mounted a comeback.

With CFO’s Yu ‘JunJia’ Chun-chia stealing the third dragon and his team winning a crucial fight, the game went back to even footing as the match entered the midgame. The game also marked a major milestone for the team’s support Ling ‘Kaiwing’ Kai-wing, who recorded his 1000th international assist

With the first tower falling in CTBC Flying Oyster’s favour in the 19th minute and Atakahan secured, hopes were high for the LCP representative. However, Moon ‘Cuzz’ Woo-chan on Viego turned the subsequent Atakhan teamfight in KT Rolster’s favour to swing momentum back towards his team.

Back-to-back teamfight victories at Braon and Dragon Soul by KT Rolster were enough to secure the LCK side with a 23-12 sub-30-minute victory and move on to the semifinals.
