Apex Legends Season 27 features Olympus rework and Mantle Boost update

Apex Legends has revealed Season 27, Amped, which features a variety of content and updates arriving in the battle royale shooter.

Launching November 4th at 10:00 am PT, the upcoming season promises to bring new features and changes, including a revamped Olympus, balance shakeups, updated mechanics, and more.

In Season 27, the iconic map Olympus will see several key changes to create a better combat flow and feature safer positioning. Only time will tell how these changes will impact the esports scene, and whether it will be as impactful as Broken Moon was in Year 5.

Four new points of interest will be added to the map. This includes Somers University, which is replacing Orbital Cannon, bringing high-flying lifts to the area. Gravity Engine will replace Energy Depot, and features both lifts and zip rails for extra mobility.

Stabilizer will take the place of Docks, featuring floating rocks to provide a path to its outer ballast structure. Finally, Dockyard will see a major change, bringing new vertical gameplay to the location.

Season 27: Amped brings changes to the Mantle Boost movement tech, which allows legends to gain a forward momentum boost when climbing up ledges or walls. In the new update, an indicator will be added to make Mantle Boosts more accessible, showing players when and how to perform the ability.

The change coincides with tweaks to the Trident, a common vehicle in Olympus. It will gain improved collision and dedicated vehicle health, which will include visual effects, to make it more viable in both ranked and casual play.

Combat will level up in Season 27 with a plethora of balance changes, including the addition of new weapon Hop-Ups, and changes to Legend kits.

The Alternator SMG will receive the ‘Double-Tap’ Hop-Up, allowing the weapon to fire from both barrels at once to increase its damage output. Only time will tell if this is enough to bring it on par with some of the most popular weapons in 2025.

Several Legends will also see buffs, nerfs, and changes to their kit to keep pace with the top meta picks of the year.

Valkyrie gains a speed boost to her VTOL Jets, which recharges three times faster. Her Skyward Dive launches sooner, and Missile Swarm no longer causes self-damage, ignores height penalties, and now scans and disables enemy movement abilities.

Rampart will receive some extra firepower with her amped walls. Her walls gain health as her Evo shield level increases. The walls will also grant speed boosts and now feature a roof. Upgrades will also be changed, bringing faster reloads and infinite ammo when shooting through cover, and regenerating wall health when out of combat.

Finally, Horizon will see some buffs to her kit. The Gravity Lift tactical has a shorter cooldown and faster lift speed, and her Black Hole ultimate has more health. Her upgrades have also been improved, granting fast fall by crouching mid air, glide capabilities when out of Gravity Lifts, and extra tactical charges on knockdowns.

A new limited-time event is coming to Apex Legends’ latest permanent mode, Wildcard. The Supersonic Event will run from November 18th to December 16th, bringing an updated Olympus map, a mythic R-99 that fires missiles, and new speed-boosting Wild Card upgrades.

Similar to previous events, new Legendary skins will be available to earn and purchase. Horizon, Crypto, Sparrow, Mirage, and Catalyst will all receive new cosmetics alongside matching weapon skins. Additionally, the Death Duet universal melee weapon, which is a set of dual katanas, will also be available to purchase.

With every season comes a new battle pass, featuring new in-game items to unlock as you play. This season features Legendary skins for Wattson and Valkyrie, a new skin for the Spitfire LMG, and a reactive skin for the Sentinel sniper at Tier 60.
