OG Esports has benched Nico ‘nicoodoz‘ Tamjidi and Christoffer ‘Chr1zN‘ Storgaard from its Counter-Strike 2 roster.

The decision follows the European esports organisation missing out on qualification for the StarLadder Budapest Major taking place in November.

Chr1zN departs the starting lineup after 14 months as the team’s in-game leader, while nicoodoz departs following a six-month stint as the AWPer.

Nicoodoz’s arrival in April brought a breath of fresh air to OG Esports, helping the team secure a place at BLAST.tv Austin Major, where it managed to advance to Stage 2.

Chr1zN joined OG in August 2024 and managed to hold his position while the team made other changes in a bid to build a roster capable of competing on the international stage.

Shortly after announcing the roster change, the organisation published a statement reaffirming its commitment to Counter-Strike esports:

“Behind the scenes, our team is working relentlessly to construct a roster that reflects this new ambition and the values that have always defined OG: resilience, passion, and the never-ending pursuit of greatness.”

Currently ranked 28th in October’s Valve Regional Standings (VRS), OG Esports has shown signs of its ability to compete against the established names. A report from Dust2.dk claims that Casper ‘CadiaN‘ Møller is one of the players reportedly joining the team.

OG Esports in 2025

The benching of Nicoodoz and Chr1zN is the latest roster move for OG. In July, the organisation parted ways with Maciej ‘F1KU’ Miklas after three years on the starting lineup.

Outside of its Counter-Strike efforts, the organisation’s fan engagement initiatives have continued to grow. Its fan token surpassed a $100m (~£76.1m) market cap after launching in 2020.

OG Esports’ ownership has also changed. In September, The Chiliz Group purchased a 51% controlling stake in the organisation, with co-founder and shareholder Xavier Oswald becoming the new CEO.
