The MongolZ has announced that temporary stand-in Unudelger ‘Controlez‘ Baasanjargal will feature in the starting lineup for the remainder of the 2025 season.
As a result, Controlez will represent the Mongolian esports organisation at November’s StarLadder Budapest Major.
Announced on the organisation’s Telegram channel, Controlez will compete at his second Major of the year, having represented Chinggis Warriors at the BLAST.tv Austin Major in June.
In addition to the Budapest Major, Controlez will also play for The MongolZ at IEM Chengdu 2025 and BLAST Rivals Fall, giving the team plenty of time to integrate him into the starting lineup before the Major begins on November 24th.
Heading into the Budapest Major, The MongolZ is the world’s best Counter-Strike 2 team after topping the October Valve Regional Standings (VRS).
Controlez brings a wealth of experience to The MongolZ. The rifler began his Counter-Strike career in 2017. His call-up to the team marks the second time he has represented the organisation, after playing for the team in late 2017.
On October 23rd, 2025, he was unveiled as a stand-in following the surprise benching of Azbayar ‘Senzu’ Munkhbold. The organisation cited “insufficient time to fully assess the academy team’s players” as a factor behind the decision to bring in Controlez.
The MongolZ In 2025
Over the past ten months, The MongolZ has established itself as one of the world’s best Counter-Strike 2 teams.
The team has achieved a wealth of success over the course of the year, winning the Esports World Cup alongside scoring three second-place finishes at FISSURE Playground 2, BLAST Bounty Season 2, and the Austin Major.
While the addition of Controlez brings additional experience to the team, it’s unclear if he can replicate Senzu’s impressive firepower on the server.
The MongolZ is one of 16 teams competing at the upcoming IEM Chengdu 2025 event, where Controlez will make his debut. Taking place from November 3rd to 9th, the Tier 1 event sees teams competing for a share of a $300,000 (~£228,745) prize pool.
