Disney+ has given more details on their plans for this year’s KeSPA Cup.

Disney+ will act as the exclusive global livestream broadcaster for the 2025 League of Legends KeSPA Cup, with the company outlining a detailed content and fan engagement plan around the event, as first reported by Korean media outlets.

The short-form domestic League of Legends competition, organised by the Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA), will run from December 6th–14th, serving as part of the selection pathway for South Korea’s national esports team ahead of the 2026 Aichi–Nagoya Asian Games.

A total of 14 teams will feature, including all 10 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) organisations, all-star squads from Vietnam and Japan, and North American teams Cloud9 and Team Liquid.

The event is expected to showcase a Vietnamese roster led by head coach Lê ‘SofM’ Quang Duy, alongside Japanese mid laner Norifumi ‘Recap’ Yamazaki and several returning veterans.

Disney-style Production and Fan Campaigns

Alongside securing exclusive rights, Disney+ is planning a range of broadcast and fan-facing activations designed to differentiate the KeSPA Cup from a standard LoL tournament stream.

During live matches, the company will incorporate Disney-branded set dressing and themed props on-air, as well as additional visual elements designed to tie the competition into the broader Disney entertainment ecosystem. The intention is to present the KeSPA Cup as a made-for-streaming show as much as a traditional esports broadcast.

On Disney+ Korea’s social channels, pre-produced content — including team greeting videos — is set to roll out in the build-up to the tournament. Once play begins, this will be followed by a steady release of highlights, player interviews and other short-form pieces to keep the event present in feeds between matchdays.

Disney+ and KeSPA will also run coordinated online and offline promotions. These include ‘watch verification’ initiatives, where fans can prove they have tuned into the matches, as well as campaigns built around fan prediction or ‘expectation’ comments. Prizes are expected to range from Disney+ subscription vouchers to tickets for the offline stage of the event at Sangam SOOP Coliseum.

KeSPA Partnership

The KeSPA Cup broadcast is the first major output from an exclusive rights agreement signed earlier this year between Walt Disney Company Korea and KeSPA. The deal covers both the 2025 KeSPA Cup and content linked to Korea’s national esports team for the 2026 Asian Games.

Beyond the KeSPA Cup, Disney+ is expected to carry the national team’s official send-off ceremony as well as evaluation and friendly matches in the lead-up to Aichi–Nagoya 2026.

Choi Yeon-woo, Head of Local Content at Walt Disney Company Korea, said the collaboration is intended to build a shared viewing moment rather than simply add another title to the catalogue: “With this esports live broadcast, our goal goes beyond simple viewership — we want to offer users a ‘shared experience.’”
