Fortnite OG Season 7: Everything we know about the festive update

Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 1, is well underway, and the return of some old favourites will follow shortly with Fortnite OG Season 7. The season will be bringing back plenty of winter-themed nostalgia to long-time Fortnite fans, with several classic locations and weapons making a return.

We’re going to dive into everything we know about Fortnite OG season 7 at the time of writing (December 9, 2025), as well as speculate on what we could see when the OG season drops. 

The official Fortnite X account recently confirmed that OG Season 7 in Fortnite will release on December 11, 2025. This coincides with the Christmas period in the same way that Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 7 OG did (though the season originally came out a week before on December 6, 2018). 

In the same post on X, it was confirmed that there will be new maps, though no other info has been released so far. The three major POIs from the classic Chapter 1 Season 7 will be returning too, those being Frosty Flights, Happy Hamlets and Polar Peak. There will also be additional updates to the map, but there is no confirmation on what else will be returning.

Not much is known about the Fortnite OG season 7 battle pass just yet, but what we do know is that it will probably cost the regular amount of 1,000 V-Bucks. If you have the Fortnite Crew monthly subscription, the OG battle pass will be included automatically without the need to pay additional V-Bucks. 

In terms of cosmetics, three Fortnite OG season 7 skins were revealed in the promotional image for the update (which we have included above). These skins include a remixed version of Lynx, Onesie and Sgt. Winter. 

While there hasn’t been confirmation as to what other skins will be coming to the battle pass, some of the other skins from Chapter 7 Season 1 are sure to make a return in some way. The most used skins from Chapter 7 Season 1 include the following, so there’s a chance we will see these:

For new items, there will be an all-new victory umbrella to be earned in OG. A special umbrella will also be given to players who have been playing the OG game mode since October 2, according to leaks from HYPEX on X. HYPEX also revealed a leak regarding the aforementioned Ice King, which is a particularly popular skin. According to the leak, there will be a mini event related to the Ice King in OG season 7, as well as snow completely covering the map. 

There is no other info regarding potential new items at the time of writing, but seeing as the OG update drops in a few days, players don’t have too long to wait before they find out if anything new will be joining the plethora of returning OG items. 

That’s everything there is to know so far about the upcoming Fortnite OG Season 7. There is plenty of returning content that will please fans of the original Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 7 from back in 2018. However, newer players and those who did not experience the OG years will also find a lot to enjoy in the returning content. From flying the X-4 Stormwing to using the highly controversial Infinity Blade (which is releasing later on in the season), players of all kinds can look forward to the fun of Fortnite OG Season 7.
