KRAFTON has announced that artist and Got7 member Kunpimook ‘BamBam’ Bhuwakul will perform at the 2025 PUBG Global Championship (PGC) Opening Ceremony.
Announced through a release, the rapper and singer will have a special two-song performance created for PUBG fans.
Taking place at the Siam Paragon in Bangkok, Thailand, the PGC is set to be hosted in tandem with the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC), creating the first-ever PUBG UNITED event.
The single-branded event will see both competitions crown their respective champions. BamBam will perform on Day 2 of the grand final, while Day 1 will feature producer and DJ Kim ‘R.Tee‘ Jung-gu alongside BEATPELLA HOUSE beatboxers Geonho ‘Wing‘ Kim and Oh ‘Hiss‘ Hyeonseo.
PUBG is no stranger to featuring K-pop artists in its esports events. Earlier this year, KRAFTON collaborated with virtual K-pop group PLAVE during the PUBG Nations Cup (PNC) and also saw K-pop girl group aespa perform during the finals as part of a wider collaboration with the game.
PUBG United Will Crown PGC and PMGC Champions
Kicking off at the end of November, both championships have already determined their 16 finalist teams. Aside from the squads that qualified through the various phases of the tournament, each championship will have an invited team from the host country.
For the PGC, the slot was given to FULL SENSE, the best Thai team in terms of points from the APAC region, while the mobile tournament saw Vampire Esports take the slot.
The grand finals of both championships will take place over three days from December 12th to December 14th. Each championship will have six matches per match day, with the winners of the Grand Finals becoming world champions.
PGC and PMGC are both known for having massive prize pools on the line. The PGC will see the champions take home $500,000 (~£373,690) of its $1.5m (~£1.21m) prize pool. Meanwhile, the mobile championship will have a combined prize pool of $3m (~£2.24m).
That being said, the PMGC will have a different prize pool distribution, as it has been spread across the different stages of the tournament. The Grand Finals will see the top 16 teams share the $1.6m (~£1.195m), with the winner taking $500,000 (~£373,690).
