This is the UFC 315 live blog for Benoit Saint Denis vs. Kyle Prepolec, the main card lightweight bout Saturday at Bell Centre in Montreal.
Saint Denis (13-3, 1 NC) has to make up ground in the always hotly contested lightweight rankings after losing two straight fights. Following a five-fight finish streak, Saint Denis was given a top contender bout against Dustin Poirier and lost via second-round knockout despite a spirited effort. He followed that with a lopsided loss to Renato Moicano, a result that put him on the first losing streak of his carer. He seeks to stay in top-15 talk with a rebound performance.
The hardy Prepolec (18-8) makes his return to the UFC, competing inside the octagon for the first time since 2019. Prepolec was called in on less than a week’s notice to replace an injured Joel Alvarez and seeks his first UFC victory after going 0-2 with the promotion the first time around. Since his most recent UFC fight, Canada’s Prepolec has gone 4-1 with first-round finishes in his past three fights.
